I love frilly, lacy, silky, ribboned things....no knickers occationally is ok, but it does lack a certain something in the imagination department...But if I was told not to wear them, then I would do as I was told. Sleeps naked and have done so for years, but am so not keen on sitting bare arsed on some seat in a public place...coz frankly no one needs to see that...Besides imagine the splinters!

While I can certainly understand the squick factor everyone is talking about, let's put it in perspective a bit. Have you ever gone out and actually sat in a wet spot? Smelled something odd? Gotten an std with no other explanation? Frankly I'm more squicky about things like touching doorknob handles, toilet handles, etc, because I'm doing so with my bare hands, and who knows where someone else's hands have been. When you're sitting down in a public place, at least your butt is covered unless you're one of the bare contingency, and sometimes even if you are, in which case, it isn't an issue for you. Just something to think about... -a

I would have to agree with you. As a non panty wearer myself (for no other reason than i decided to do away with them years ago) - the squick factors being spoke of are less about undergarments or the lack of them than it is about good old fashion - class. Suffice to say - there are no lingering reminders of me anywhere once i've gone. No matter where it is.

This 'squick' is an automatic response from me, kind of like how I leap away from an encroaching bug. It just is. It grosses me out to imagine sitting on someones wetness, soaking into my jeans or skirt. Walking around with dried crusty 'stuff' on my backside! Going undie-less is one thing, but sitting on public chairs with your naked bits sliding around and dripping is another thing altogether for me. It isn't so much a worry about STDs, it is just the whole idea.

Aquatic....I have to admit, was only talking about public places there..ie, out at a restaurant or something of that nature. If you're at a dungeon or play party, obviously there's a better chance of finding a wet spot..and yes, it should be thought about there. Personally, I don't sit on furniture in that type of situation, so not something I have to think about too much... tricia.. I don't think any girl would go out and consciously leave a wet spot, and I really didn't interpret the posters as saying that..that ones that seemed squicked seemed squicked by the idea in general, though I could be wrong. My point is simply you have a better chance of getting germs off a doorknob or faucet handle, then from a seat at a restaurant...regardless of whether the person there before you had their naked butt on the seat or not. I hate undies..but personally wouldn't put my bare butt on a seat in a public place, but, doesn't bother me too much that others might have. Maybe I'm just not easily squicked. Do I think it lacks class to do so? Probably..but, no harm, no foul... -a

[:D] But I think it's only polite to not put your private parts on public seating. If you are going to do it, carry wipes with you. Women can get juicy and it's not always from arousal. If you've simply been moving around a lot, your vaginal discharge can come out and you probably won't even notice. Some women do, some don't, and some only notice some of the time. This is why women sometimes take off their panties and notice some fluid there and wonder why.

I personally can't go without panties. I get horny easily and therefore get very wet very quickly. so yeah.. that won't work for me yes I've gone without them but I either end up with wet spots in the crotch of my pants or leave wet puddles on chairs if i'm in a skirt.
