al-Sadr calls for attacks on U.S. troops

By SAAD ABDUL KADIR, Associated Press Writer2 hours, 43 minutes ago

The renegade cleric Muqtada al-Sadr urged the Iraqi army and police to stop cooperating with the United States and told his guerrilla fighters to concentrate on pushing American forces out of the country, according to a statement issued Sunday.

The statement, stamped with al-Sadr's official seal, was distributed in the Shiite holy city of Najaf on Sunday — a day before a large demonstration there, called for by al-Sadr, to mark the fourth anniversary of the fall of Baghdad.

Gingrich: AG should consider resigning

By HOPE YEN, Associated Press Writer1 hour, 29 minutes ago

Joining a growing list of Republicans, former House Speaker Newt Gingrich said Sunday that Attorney General Alberto Gonzales should consider resigning. The possible presidential candidate said the botched firing of U.S. attorneys has destroyed Gonzales' credibility as the nation's top law enforcer.

"I think the country, in fact, would be much better served to have a new team at the Justice Department, across the board," Gingrich said. "I cannot imagine how he is going to be effective for the rest of this administration. ... They're going to be involved in endless hearings."

NYC couple hail cab for 2,400-mile ride

1 hour, 27 minutes ago

Betty and Bob Matas have retired and are moving to Arizona, but like many New Yorkers they don't drive, and they don't want their cats to travel all that way in an airliner cargo hold.

Their solution: "Hey, cabbie."

Sir now that is pretty bad when Newt Gingrich thinks you should resign.  i agree with him wholeheartedly as Gonzales has lost his credibility with his continually changing statements.

LOL seeking...... yes, Newt will never be the poster boy for ethical behaviour, and yes, Alberto should get out, and promptly.
