It is spring time and so, has occurred to me; others may be doing a little spring cleaning like I myself am doing. Therefore, I thought I would pass along this information to protect the innocent and prevent any unnecessary injuries.

When you are using cleaning products, especially ones that come in a spray bottle….PLEASE…. always, and I do mean always, keep track of where you set the bottle down.

If you do not….you may become so engrossed in what it is you are about to clean; (such as, oh say, the draw at the bottom of your cooking stove), that you inadvertently overlook the bottle that is blending in with the kitchen floor. So that when you squat to get in a more comfortable position for the task, you are assaulted by your own cleaning product.

Let me explain how this goes down…..first there is a sudden stop, accompanied by a sharp pain, which almost instantly turns to intense burning. Then, after a few seconds pass and you are able to move again, you realize the degree of your stupidity. As you gingerly make your way to the bathroom to check for blood, you debate on whether to laugh cause you can’t believe you just did that, or cry cause it fucking hurts….bad!!

Now that I have done my public service for the day; I think I will sit here enjoying a nice ice pack, strategically positioned on the assaulted area.

If it's any consolation, I had a cleaning product incident yesterday, too, although I wasn't cleaning.

Let's just say there was a...um..little....TARANTULA in my apartment.  It was a baby, which made it the size of a really big, meaty and hairy spider.  Being that I have a spider phobia, I couldn't get near enough to actually touch it to remove it.  So I grabbed my handy dandy hand held dirt devil.  But the spider was too heavy for it to suck in. 

Seriously, it's a phobia.

So I panicked.  And grabbed the Tilex.

Half a bottle later, it was finally dead, and I realized I emptied a LOT of Tilex out into my bedroom, and pretty nearly fumed myself out of my own home.

But the spider is dead.

So here's to your ability to move again, and here's to my ability to breathe again.  [:D]

LOL to us indeed!  And may your cleaning days be filled with many successes, void of bodily injury!!

LaTigress, I grabbed my hair spray first but it's Aveda Air Control and damn that stuff's expensive!  So I set it down and got the Tilex....heh.

Many people forget that household accidents are some of THE leading causes of ER visits.
I tend to be a klutz, so I have to be careful also.
I hope you feel better soon, did it get in your eyes?
I want to add, be careful of the fumes also, I tend to be heavy handed with my solutions and some
are very strong!  Open the windows, turn on fans, shut doors and be careful of the fumes.
Again, I hope you are feeling better soon.

After my unfortunate …..mishap; I would say, not doing so can be detrimental to one’s health!

I thought you weren’t supposed to let a person sleep if they go into shock….or does it have to be their whole body and not just parts of it?

I’ve done klutz before… :)…. this was more like self inflicted assault with a deadly weapon.[:(]
