If you had the choice, would you rather wear leather or a natural/synthetic leather replacement? I'm wondering how many Vegans or other anti-leather people are in the kink community. Also, if you prefer Vegan friendly bondage gear, do you have a source for it?

I was hoping to get some insight. My ex just asked me about it, and I haven't a clue, but I've seen some goth stuff done with some sort of vegetable-leather substitute, and wondered if anyone had experience with it.

Sorry, but there's just something about the smell and texture of leather... i know i've been seeing more neoprene gear out there lately... can't recommend anything off the top of my head, tho. That seems to be a much nicer substitute than nylon, from a tactile perspective. And of course, there's always steel [:)] i remember years ago i ended up with a business card for a pro Domme who promised "Cruelty-free domination".. thought that was kind of odd until somebody explained that she was a vegan, so all of the gear she used was made without animal products. ...dave
