Yes. They're hives. She don't know what's causing them though because i haven't been exposed to anything different. i told her about the animals, and she don't think it's related since i started working with them and the itching didn't start till mid day somedays later. All though i will keep an eye on them, and if it gets orse ican go back.

Hi... I don't usually post here, in fact this is my first (odd subject for a first post huh?) but I thought I might share here. I am inclined to agree with Domme's diagnosis of the possibilities of scabies. Scabies are nothing to be ashamed of, and it doesn't men you are 'dirty' or anything. They do tend to infiltrate the dermis at the softest, more humid areas such as the underarms, breasts, crook of the elbow and back of the knees. To my knowledge, they can appear to be cycular, being worse at one time of day or other. The good thing is there is an easy cure. Purchase two or three bottles of RIT in your pharmacy and use according to instructions. Once is usually sufficient, but two uses are sure to kill the ones on your body. Next, and a bit more complicated, is to rid the laundry and bedding of them and their eggs. Bed linens and blankets should be put into black (black is color specific here) trash bags and spayed with the aerosol RIT then bound tightly shut and sat in the sun all day long. the bed mattress should be thoroughly sprayed with the RIT spray also and sat in the sun if possible. When the day is over, wash the linens and all dirty laundry in HOT water usuing bleach where possible. It is all advantageous to utilize some sort of flea spray or fogger in the house to alleviate any reoccurances from the ones in the carpeting or furniture. Hope this helps!

As I have said before my mom used to get hives all the time and sometimes hives are not an allergic reaction she has to take xanax to keep from getting them I mean anti histamines would stop the itching after they started popping up but the xanax keeps them away. Hers are from stress, which my mom worries about every little thing and if things are going good she still finds something to worry about, but anyways you could be stressed really without knowing it so that might be a problem for you I really couldn't say. But I know most people won't take any kind of meds for nerves unless they have no choice because of the addiction risk. But my mom has gotten off of xanax before so it isn't really that hard it is just taking less and less every few weeks until you are off them. But it is something to consider, something that could be causing it. I hope everything gets better for you soon.

Zindy, I have had 3new ones pop up since this morning, I took a benadryl, just one this time 2 makes me loopy, and I am fairly itchy free!

Interesting but my doctor would disagree. I was given a prymethicin (sp) cream to use on my whole body to kill the little creatures. This is an insecticide. I know the ones i had started on my ankles and ended up on my arms and eventually trunk of the body. I've gotten them since but never more than 1-2 because i know now if i get them (only at scout camp -grrrr), i apply a small amount of spider killer to a q-tip and hold it on the spot. No spreading and the itching stops in 1-2 treatments. Feline - glad you saw the dr. it always makes one feel better. hope they go away soon

FP: You can go to the local pharmacy or Walmart and get a bottle of Sarna Lotion to help with the itch. It is designed specifically for itchiness. Steroind cremes are pretty ineffective on hives, by my experience. I have had hives in the past and it has helped quite a bit. If the Benedryl is making you too loopy, call your MD and ask if there is something else s/he can reccomend or prescribe. I have found Atarax much less sedating. Atarax is a prescript med. mbmbn edited to add : Do not use Aveeno bath or oatmeal type baths. They actually worsen the hives, according to my dermatologist.

Could it be bed bug bites? Brr those things are apparently infesting all kinds of hotels, apartments, houses, etc now that we've banned the truly effective insecticides! LS ps I really, really hope it's not shingles.

Glad to hear you got a proper diagnosis from the doctor. You should also check with a pharmacist for over the counter treatments. Aveeno makes bath preparations to help with itching skin. If memory serves correctly, baking soda and oatmeal are commonly used in baths for children who have chicken pox.

owned nope same boring routien same boreing foods same normal life. Dreamy, I have thought it could be something in my natural enviroment causing my hivesI don't like, like mites, but then I don't think so, because it'd be all the time and this just started.

I get hives from the flakes of skin from cats and dogs; their dandriff or whatever it is called. It actually has turned into a serious allergic reaction the older I have gotten. I don't have these animals around me so do not have a reaction although cheeze whiz gives me hives too.
