Let's take a break from trying to save the world. As a kid, I was lucky. I was actually lucky NOT to be rich, I learned alot more that way. My Parents found the money though, to get me books, among them a kickass encyclopedia. But we rented back then. We never had a piano. If I had to admit to it all, I started playing guitar about 40 years ago, but really there were times in my life when I did not pick one up for years. There were many periods when I didn't even own a guitar, but things have changed. Over the years I have shunned media, and while in no way am I a recluse, I have no desire to know other people's story, like watching a soap. Or anything. Some bad shit happened to a girl in Cleveland. Horrible yes, but it cannot pervade others' lives. I'd actually give her bone marrow if I could, but the odds of that working are totally out of this universe. At any rate, alot of the time, I would rather write fiction than to read it, and it follows of course that I would rather play music than to listen to it. Well it just so happens that now I have a piano. Electronic, but I think it's a real good one. Solid, weighted keys, with exceptional tactile response, even a pretty decent amount of bounce. And there are 88 of them. Other than a bunch of other lyrics, I have written two songs, that means made up. I cannot put them to paper at this time. I had never tried, later I tried tab and I just don't really get that either. Now even though I am not really proficient on the piano, and I almost amazed myself earlier. See I have been figuring out my songs written on guitar, and playing them on the piano. I only have two at the moment, but each is repleat with non-standard chords etc., I love that shit. One is really just about done, except for the tweaking of two or three words. It is called 'The Answer In The End'. The other is an instrumental entitled 'Dance Of The Spider'. Interesting that I cannot properly play Dance Of The Spider on the piano, I have ten fingers, the guitar only has six strings, and the piano has eighty eight keys. You would think with math like that you'd be able to, but no, not the shit I write ! At any rate, I say let's take a breather. Anyone into music around here ? Whaddya play ? People in my area who want to play music together are not bound by my wishes for a life partner y'know. I got a piano and a couple guitars, and my neighbor has a guitar and a couple of basses, one of them strung backward (lefthand). My buddy's drum set is also there, but it ain't the greatest. Beats nothing though. I really haven't been in this close, long term with a piano before. It fascinates me. Although I can't do exactly what I do on the strings, I recently discoverd more. If I would've had this thing 20 years ago, it is so compelling, so versatile. I think every kid should have one. I guess this is the oldster version of the video game. Back to play now, talk to you later. T
