I believe a gay person as President would allow thier sexual preference influence policies...especially since this has been the decade of the gay on tv.

Seems one could not turn on tv or go anywhere without having homosexual values shoved down one's throats.

I seem to weary of the minority (yes there is a reason why they are a minority) groups whinning about how unfair everyone else is when they themselves practice exclusivity amoung thier ranks through activisim, commercial enterprise endorsement (only buy from another minority) and active discrimination.

Get over it.

It was what it was.

It is what it is.

Base your stance on who you are rather than what minority you can from or are from.

The United States of America is based on minorities that flee political, religious percecution.

Because of course the religous right president we have now certainly has not let any of his personal lifestyle choices affect how he does his job!

Oh and one other thought. I believe I heard some straight white guys moaning about how much of a minority they have become in this country.............sooooooooo.........no more straight white guys allowed in office.

Intersting to read form someone who has this in here profile:
The NITTY GRITTY Note: While I can accept a person with a penis as a friend I seriously cannot imagine any sexual interaction

What do you really think a gay president would do that much different that would screw things up?  Yes, they might want to allow gay marriages, and they might want more gay rights.  The chance of that actually happening with the senate and congress is pretty unlikely.  For examples sake though, lets say that he/she was able to get some of that done.  What would it really do to harm you?  Contrary to the belief of a lot of people, society did not begin to unravel when gay people starting asking to be treated in a fair way.  I don't think anyone can say for sure one thing that caused it to be the way it is.  I think that most would like to blame just one group, and try to get rid of the problem (remind you of anyone?)..but the truth is, you could get rid of every single gay and bi person tomorrow, and the world would be just as shitty as it is now (only less stylish and no womens sports (cliche', I know..don't hit me) ).  I love how everyone thinks they have a solution to everything bad in this world.  I can't see that any president hasn't let their on agenda rule how they made decisions.  We all do that in pretty much any business we run, or possibly in ways we interact with others.

I don't care what sex, color, religion, or sexual preference someone has, it's how they will run this country that matters the most right now and in the future.  We are in a war we can't win, people are dying every single day..we are losing our good jobs to other countries, tons of people are on welfare and can't even get above poverty level.  If someone can figure out a way to make things better, he/she can have sex with whoever they want after hours.

The question here is so obviously bait and i'm not even gonna bite .  But.....i find it very ironic that a man who would type a sentence like the one above is judging who among us can pass a GED test.  i don't go around dogging people for their grammar and spelling and general intelligence at all.  BUT....when someone does, to me that means they have opened the door to having their own critiqued.  Just a thought.........slave luci

you might then wish to be more aware of topics like these as there are of great debates in amny communities where they are being introduced into the teaching programs...

I am sure a quick search on CNN or Google might impart the understanding  you lack.

You need help.  You are so desperate to start an argument that you will try anything.  i said MAN because i think that's what you are.  If a female had said what you did, i would have said WOMAN.  That's just how i am.  i refer to folks like that.  Actually, there were a hundred other words that came to mind to describe you there but i thought man was the nicest, most basic and applicable one to choose.
Congrats on passing your GED...there is a great future that awaits you.

To My knowledge there is NO gay candiate running for the Presidency of the United States.

I thought that Connie Rice vs Hillary Clinton would be a good runoff but someone mentioned that Connie was gay.

Why is it there are NO running gay candidates running if this is such an open free spirited country with no retalitory motives in mind?

Let's face it... the only difference having a gay president would make... is maybe more tasteful curtains in the Oval Office.

Beyond that, whoever gets the job will have been a career politician all his (or her) life, and will have practically NOTHING in common with the 70 million or so voters that put them there. The issues that really DO affect every American... taxes, healthcare, jobs, crime... will go on being ignored, while the people who raised funds for, or made donations to, the winning campaign will be rewarded, as usual.

Patronage, corruption, and incompetance... the hallmarks of a thriving Democratic system.

And don't sit there nodding in agreement, with a smug little smile on your face, if you're Canadian, British, French, or whatever... our political systems are JUST as bad... the only differences are that there's less money involved.
