Greetings A/all,

Spring is here and summer is just around the corner.
Outdoor dining, whether fancy garden parties or
downhome bar-b-ques are times for great food
and great company.

So what is in your picnic basket or on the buffet table?

Go on, dish, share, tell your bar-b-que secrets
and favorite sandwiches, drinks, etc.  If you
do not see your favorites listed just state
them in your reply.

As always, the multiple selection button is
turned on but the format only allows a maximum
of 10 choices.

Have fun!

You're not from the south, are you? No mention of fried chicken anywhere. ;-)

MFM, there's the problem with only 10 choices.

Fried chicken for some in the South,
cucumber sandwiches for some in the North.

Grey Poupon, mayonaisse, catsup, salsa, Vegimite,
Nutella, peanut butter?  The possibilities for sandwich
spreads alone would take a whole page.  lol

Cucumber sammiches??  That's tea party food, where you wear white gloves and big flowerdy hats.

Make a list and check it twice, then find out if they are "naughty or nice'.

Here's a picnic story...

I went out with my neko, our basket containing watermelon, potato salad (Mommy's recipe), some dried fruit, iced tea and some sharp cheddar cheese, on a bike hike up the Lehigh Valley Trail. Long story short, we were caught in a sudden squall and everything got so soaked that from now on we're calling dried fruit just "fruit," with a laughing look at the other. Sort of made me wish I'd included a big, fluffy towel in our picnic basket...

???  no fried chicken  ???

When I hear "picnic", I automatically think of fried chicken, tater salad, ice cold sweet tea and apple pie.

When I hear "cook out", I think of burgers, hot dogs, assorted salads, tater chips & ice cold sweet tea

When I hear "barbeque", I am thinking of ribs, steaks, chicken, baked beans, cole slaw &
ice cold sweet tea

I am not originally from the south so these thoughts of mine came from my experiences & what I have seen on TV (I guess).

Northerners have cookouts.........Southerners have bbq's.........thats the difference!

must have fried chicken.......must have cold lemonade or sweet tea........must have bread and cheese maybe some wine......must have fresh fruit.......must have potato salad or cole slaw........or chips. or you can always go the easy route and go to subway.....head to the park and pop a squat in the shade and watch the ducks at the pond!
