Can someone please tell me what Victorian Play is...I would appreciate knowing more about what it entails and how it originated. Any information or insight would greatly be appreciated.

Respectfully,
Willing2serve

Think of it like Gorean stuff, except following the ideals and structures of the Victorian era.

I'm totally into the costuming aspect of it, but not much beyond that.

I've always felt an affinity for a touch of the Victorian era in my/our relationship/life. I like the attire, and it seems you can always find current clothing options that have a definite Victorian flavor. I particularly like the female undergarments and often require my girl to wear a garter belt with thigh highs or a corset and so on. I like the frilly, lacy, revealing, suggestive things on a girl. I also like the period subjugation of tavern wenches, house maids and so on. I like structure. A lot. And there was a lot of structure in the Victorian era. And discipline. Without consciously trying to, I think I draw heavily on that era in managing our home and relationship.

I found this site pretty interesting. http://www.sub-dom.com/Leo/

Hi willing2serve,

Oooh, good question! As far as sissy knows, a Victorian play is a dramatic (i.e., tragic, comic, or historic) show or production performed on a theatrical stage during the reign of the British monarch Queen Victoria. The earliest known instances of such dramatic performances originated with the ancient Greeks, sissy believes, in comedies such as "A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the CollarMe Forum" by Aeschylus or "Clouds" and "Frogs" by Harry Stiffer Knees; as well as tragedies such as "Your Uncle's Wife has Disappeared" (a.k.a. "Antigone") by Sophocles, "Fawlty Towers" by his brother Jonocles, and "Bacchae" by Euripides Anyahavtabuyanewpair. There are probably some other famous tragedies that lola should have listed here but it is hard to tell because they are all Greek to this little sissyfuss!

A good example of a Victorian play would be "Pygmalian" by GBS (they now have a cure for that!) or "Puss in Boots" by J. R. Planché. Who shot J.R. ? It was probably Hans Christian Anderson !

You might also want to check this web site out. sissy Hopes that helped.

Curtsies,

sissy maid lola

hmm sounds like something I prefer in general. I always prefer people to have some ettiquette, but at the same time be able to be rowdy at times to let loose. My rule of thumb is that a person must know how to behave in an evening dress/tuxedo and in jeans as well. It reminds me of something from a movie, "Never trust a Zen monk who can't dance"

I'm not sure how far I would like victorian play to go, but I prefer the principles and aspects to be incorporated into daily life. Just my style.

You will also find that the Victorian era had a very seedy underside if you look at the erotic literature of the time, and sometimes even the historical records will note a few foibles of famous people doing kinky things.

We didn't invent the game people, it's been going on for centuries.

Anyhow a look at the erotic literature of the time will give you things such as Birching stories, punishment of schoolgirls and boys sexual harrasment of servants. Unfortunatly for me well over half of the erotic literature is in French which I can't read. Naughty French Postcards so popular in the US during the Victorian era often depicted two women involved in dicipline of some sort, (because if a man were in the photo it would make it "pornography".

I have a great fondness for most thigns of that period. Especially anything discipline related. Governess, Englishmans Vice, birching etc. The manner in which punishment is administered. So proper, so polite, you would think its an afternoon tea party rather than a bare bottom punishment session. The projected civility of it all is so endearing and comforting.

There is a book called "Love and Dirt" which is a true story from diaries kept by a slave in the Victorian era. Its about a Master/slave relationship that spanned about 50 years. It was written by Diane Atkinson.

Figging was also a popular in the Victorian era.

One of my favorite books had a collection of short stories by diffrent authors and dated in the victoria time . They were very good very erotic. Tho you did have to get past some of the girls being 16 and the guys 30 but that was no big deal back then. I thought it was kinda interesting because it had history in them as well such as how they tried to prevent pregnancy. There outfits are great in so many ways . I wish they were not so expensive or I was good enough to sew my own. At holloween you can get a cheap version of a outfit. exp after holloween when they go on sale.
