MistressInNYC -> One liners (4/20/2005 9:21:10 PM)

It's been way too many "one lined" e-mails.
- Hi, ma'am, how are you doing?
I'm too busy to even block your handle names. That's how busy I am.
- Love to serve you.
How? What are you offering? How can you love to serve me if you don't know anything about me or things I am looking for in a slave?
- Wanna be your strap-on trainee.
Why I have to acknowledge your needs before you don't akknowledge my needs?

I just have to vent and want to ask all of your one liners;

- What are you looking for?
A pen pal?
- Hence you are too shy to express your emotion in general, you cannot even write?
Or, you don't have anything to say about yourself and anything to offer besides "hi, ma'am. How are you"?
Do you think I need you for asking how I am doing every day via e-mail?

What is it with you, one liners?

I'm nice enough to respond and trying to explain what I'm looking for and ask them again if they understand.
Yes, my e-mail is a quite long for that reason. ....... then I get one line reply again that is not making any sense nor does it even relate to my e-mail.

Yes, I do know lots' of CM subs/slaves who are on this boad are good ones, but it seems to me I'm getting such one liners/losers a lot. Today, some one liners just pulled the triggar.

Trust me you just don't wanna near me at this very instant. [:@]

onceburned -> RE: One liners (4/20/2005 9:41:01 PM)

It is difficult to write more than one line if they have 50 other dommes that they need to contact. Where are they going to find the time?

Besides, all the thought required to actually say something would be mentally exhausting and they would have to take a nap.

And surely you were planning to write back with an erotic masterpiece just for them. So of course they didn't want their words interfering with your creative processes. Why, that would be like topping from the bottom!!!

Chupaflor -> RE: One liners (4/20/2005 11:16:43 PM)

We get one liners too. It's almost comical some of the ones I get. I have long sence stopped getting stressed out about it. It takes too much energy to worry about it.
On the other hand, it can sometimes be intimidating to write to a Dom/Mistress, especially if you are new to the scence. They may be worried that they will make a faux paux(sp).

EmeraldSlave2 -> RE: One liners (4/21/2005 5:23:12 AM)

I prefer one liners than to 4 page form emails that get copied and pasted. Though the 4 pagers can be far more hilarious.

If I see a profile I will like and notice that they are online right now, I will email a one line that says "Hey, you look cool" and see what happens.

Oh so that was you I deleted. jk.. [:D]

But for me.. with Collarme taking like buttloads of time to load.. its a pain to go read an email that says "You look cool".. At least friggin tell me what it is about me that looks cool.. Throw me a bone.

If you send me a one liner message.. then am I really obligated to write you a decent note back? No .. not really. But see then I also know.. if I don't.. the likely hood of me wasting more time with your next one liner is much higher.

Its EMAIL.. aka a letter.. not some PM or Instant message. I wish Collarme had IM set up with it. It would make this much easier.

*grumbles and gets off her soapbox*

EmeraldSlave2 -> RE: One liners (4/21/2005 7:58:39 AM)

V- agree completely, and when I send one liners it's because I see they are online RIGHT THEN and am using it as a form of IM.

But as you've seen, I'm also not the type to get annoyed if someone doesn't respond. I take responsibility that my email will be perceived as a pointless wanker.

I hate that one because we both know you don't give a shit, you're just checking if I'll email you back before you start telling me about how you'd love to do different things to my ass on command.

I get them too... At first I used to write back because I figured that perhaps they are shy in approaching, but I've realized now that most are just trying to get a reaction, so they can tell me what they're into (besides what's on profile)... M

harmony3709 -> RE: One liners (4/21/2005 2:48:36 PM)

I have to admit that one liners confuse me. I have gotten ones that say:

Hi
Hello
How are you?
Nice profile.
You seem nice.

I typically respond to all emails.........but I must admit that these leave me a little lost as to how to respond. I'll usually say hi/hello back/fine and you?/thanks/thanks or what fits and see what happens. Then if and when something more concrete comes -- I'll deal with it accordingly.

Seem like a waste of time to me. Being brief is fine, but this just reminds me of the boy in school who would wad up a piece of paper and throw it at you to get your attention.

Be well,
harmony

junecleaver -> RE: One liners (4/21/2005 5:11:57 PM)

The only one-liner I want is, "I'm going to buy you shoes.'

Aside from that I just don't understand what people thinking they are giving or going to get back with thoughtless e-mails like that.

Now that's a one-liner that I would respond to [:D]

MistressInNYC -> RE: One liners (4/22/2005 3:49:28 PM)

What I really want to know from one liners is what their intention of sending such meaningless e-mails over and over to every dommes.

Of Course, I don't need to get 4 pages of e-mails, but hey, at least make a point of writing to Me!

junecleaver, take a look at this that was from another site;

Slave wannabe: "Mistress, I'd like to be your foot slave".
"How?"
Slave wannabe: "I love lether/PVC/long boots"
"Well, so do I. Are you going to buy me one?"
Slave wannabe: "No, ma'am, I'd love to lick them".

Ok, meaning I'd supply those boots at my expense to let him ruin?
Some clients/slaves buy me gifts - this slave wannabe asked me to provide the tool/equipment (boots in this case) for him so just he can be pleased?

I really don't get those people. Their fantasies/demands are their first priority in fact, We, dommes come in second.
Why they call themselves a "slave" if they cannot be ones?

lil1v -> RE: One liners (5/3/2005 2:49:11 AM)

Ok.. This is retarded.

Please tell me that Dom/mes don't actually think they're going to get a real decent reply to "Good Evening" or "HI" or any other. not even a full sentence emails.

I got an email today said "Evening, lil1v" Thats it. Nothing more. The profile said it was a couple in my state looking for another sub. So I put two and two together. They're probably looking for a sub .. right? However my profile clearly states I'm not looking.

So I reply "um.. hi.. I'm wondering did you read my profile?" Not exactly the evil reply I had in my head, but nice enough I thought for what little I had to go on.

I recieved back a reply "umm yes...just saying hello...dam girl...take one of those.....pills...mmmmm..oh yeah the fucking chill pill"

So.. ok.. I go to reply and write a rather long letter nicely explaining to them that what might get them better replies is a little longer emails detailing a little bit of why they picked that person to message. I hit send and got...

"User has you blocked. Message not sent"

*dies laughing* Like I'm the one that needs to be blocked.

Or maybe I am just a bitch.. *shrugs*

I see an influx of them lately. It hasn't always been that way here. However GoddessDustyGold has a very plausable explanation for the influx: Emails mistaken for IMs?.

Otherwise, I would attribute it to poor communication skills, shyness or trolling. But I think to jump to the conclusion of trolling right away may be a little harsh.

Usually however, it's an indication of non-compatibility as the biggest turn on for me is an eloquent individual.

kisshou -> RE: One liners (5/3/2005 5:20:37 AM)

One liners are used to get you to notice a person and read their profile. I think alot of people place to much importance on the profile as a means of getting to know someone.

(Example)'
'Dominant to sub' "I read your profile , it says you are into kinky kinkiness, I am looking for someone exactly into that kink , let's hook up"

To me, too much emphasis is placed on a kink and exploring it rather than building an actual relationship, unless of course that is what you are into *grins*

Hi harmony,

I'm also an "answer every mail I get type", even if it is an "eff you, leave me alone response" <G> I have made it a policy NOT to answer any email that is less than three words, such as "hi" or "hello". I suppose if I got a "nice profile" I would thank the sender, but that IS less than three words, isn't it? [;)]

Synocense -> RE: One liners (5/3/2005 6:13:06 AM)

My opinion and that would be all ...What makes "slave wannabe" a wannabe exactly? It appears to me this person was pretty straight forward. You asked if he/she would buy you boots and you were told "No" .. If my ability to serve were based solely on my willingness to buy the potential Master things before I even knew his real name, I'd be one huge wannabe! I wonder if we are so accustomed to getting Emails from true wankers that we aren't giving those with honest intentions the benefit of the doubt anymore. And what happened to teaching, learning and just helping someone along? I understand well that training can be a pain and you might ask yourself why you would want to put time and energy into a "potential" - but I think too that searching for that insta-slave, just add contact, is unrealistic as well.

ElektraUkM -> RE: One liners (5/3/2005 8:28:28 AM)

In 'defence' of the daft one-liner senders... when you sign in here, you get a pic and profile of someone who's online shoved at you, with a suggestion to 'send a quick message to...'

I would think in all probablility most of those 'hello' things are a result of this format of the home page.

Just a thought.

Gemeni -> RE: One liners (5/3/2005 9:13:20 AM)

Offhand, I'd say they are showing off thier stupidity and laziness.

And forgetting that if "It's all about me" it's probably going to stay that way.

EmeraldSlave2 -> RE: One liners (5/3/2005 9:26:38 AM)

Heyyy I send off one liners a lot and it's neither stupidity or laziness.

stormsfate -> RE: One liners (5/3/2005 9:31:43 AM)

I don't consider it stupid or lazy, either. I tend to lean more towards the belief that they would like to start a dialogue, but perhaps aren't exactly sure what to say to get things started. If they send a one liner...they have a chance that the person they are sending it to might actually get the conversation started.

best regards,
fate
