esotericjon -> sensual submission (4/21/2005 2:08:10 AM)

Here I am, sitting after just having woken up, cheking emails, etc. etc. I have been on the fringes of this lifestyle for a number of yers, and finally have decided to enter. I am very open minded (I think), but due to prior medical diffulculties, I do not think that I wiill be able to withstand the usual kinks. I just recently learned of "Sensual Submission" , but have been unable to locate enough information to satiate my hunger for knowledge one this subject. From the little I have learned, it appears to be up my alley, but then again, I may be a total nutjob , so I am asking those wiser than I.
Any information is appreciated, as well as information on D/s in general.

Thank You, Jon

Not sure if I'm wiser then you, but I would interpret sensual submission as submission within the realm of intimacy/sensuality/sexuality rather then submission on all aspects of one's life, ie: submission limited to the boudoir.

Then again, it might be the way in which one submits, sensually.

I'll be honest, I've never heard the term used to describe any specific act or specific way of doing things. I think it's just a sexy buzz word. But I'd be interested in hearing what you have read on the topic.

Miss Angelika:
Thank you for your response
I may not have worded my original inquiry well.
The medical diffulculties I mentioned deal with my brain unfortunately, and I have a tendancy to mispeak quite a bit
.
I would like to explore the heightening of feeling, power exchange, and the like.
I am not into physical nor emotional pain, as I experience this all the time now.
What I know of sensual submission is a gentle, yet tough playing. I wish I had some examples to give to you, but I am a newbie! [8|]
I am a very abstract thinker, and into all sorts of different ideas. Maybe what I should be saying is this:
I do not know!
I think for my own benefit I should stick to asking questions for the time being, as I do not wish to inadvertently offer erroneous information.

You need to consider the nature of your injury and what you are able to do. Also, if you should be doing it at all. I don't often tell people that maybe they belong in fantasy land, but your health comes first.

Here is one of those checklists of activities in BDSM that are all over the place http://www.vanilla-not.com/reallife/checklist.html Figure out which, if any, you are physically and psychologically able to do.

And watch the whole "sensual domination" realm. As Lady Angelika pointed out, it's one of those areas that isn't well defined and that people provide their own definition. To me, sensual submission is something that involves stimulating the senses.. it is scratching, feathers, candle wax and stuff like that.

If you can not endure any physical pain, you may want to look into the service side of submission. There are subs who work to make the Domme's life easier by cooking for her, cleaning for her, running errands and such. Make sure she is aware of your limitations and special needs.

Thank you for the excellent suggestions!
My view of what it is is fairly in line with your definition. I can take some pain, but the main issue is that stress nearly always brings about a migraine. I am glad to say that I manage to live stress free for the most part nowadays, but I have limited my activities. Thank you so very much for the link. I am off to cyber land after I post this to peruse that site. I ask myself often is this is for me. I'd like to think it is, as the ifo I have recived about this lifestyle seems to suggest that the discipline, etc, might be the answer I have been searching for so I may be able to finish goals I set out to do now.

In addition, I'd like to thank all you kind hearted Dominas for your acceptance. All too often I have been met with negativity and even disbelief up mentioning of my condition.

have a wonderful day!

Jon
