Hi all,
this is a very intimidating forum to post on :)

I just wanted to say hello and to introduce myself. I am from the UK and am new to BDSM. No doubt I will be dismissed as another wanabe but hopefully over time I can change that perception.

I see myself as being very submissive (even though I am not in my job) and am looking to explore that side of my character. However, to be honest I am not sure where to start so any suggestions would be gratefully received.

While it is very intimidating I agree, this place is such an incredible mix of personalities and knowledge, you'd be hard pressed to find someplace better.

Just don't make any inflammatory statements and you'll be fine!!

Hi there . . . just don't piss off the natives and you'll be fine! Seriously though, there are some wonderful people around here who are willing to help out a newbie. You can learn a lot just from reading the boards . . . so much you never even knew you wanted to know, and lots of things you don't want to know!

Ask away and be your self....if you cloud your questions with doubt,then it will be a clouded answer that you recieve.

btw. im liiaa and am also new here and have asked many stupid questions IMO..and never have been flammed for my newness nor spelling ;)

My name is Rachel and I’m a submissive to.
The only thing I can think of is be who you are. the who;e idea (to my mind) is that is the purpose of this forum. So we can be and exspress who we are. Grant you there are bullies out there who hide behind the term Dom/e but you will get people like that in all walks of life.
However, if you want a general chat , happy to if not may I wish you the best of luck
Remember this above everything else you are just as important as the person you are speaking to and all will be well with much luck and good wishes

dont be scared. theres nothing to be afraid of. just remember to always be honest with whom ever you find. and use caution. Wether you seek a Domme or Dom.. always remember there is a person on the other side of the computer screen..... so interaction could go a number of ways.. good luck and enjoy the wonderful experiance of being a sub.

Wow, thank you so much guys. You have all been so encouraging! I didn't expect such a friendly response from everybody.

I guess my only question is where do I start? Beyond the forums and reading through them, how should I get started>

Depends on what you want to start.

Are you looking to start a relationship with someone? Are you looking to start scening right away? What is your goal?

Munches and play parties are good places to go IRL. Looking at profiles on the other side and striking up conversations can be difficult, but can also be rewarding ...all on your presentation.

These boards are very informative. I have had people contact me simply because of somthing I've written on the boards, and I've contacted others for the same reason.

Define your goals and proceed from there.

That is a good point. Yes I do need to think things through a little more. I think the best place for me to start is learning from somebody online. To be honest real life would be a bit of a scary start while i can still learn from a Mistress online. I think hanging out in these forums is probably a good starting point. You never know I might meet a Domme willing to take pity on me :)
