i received this email this am:

my rant is this:
1. form letter
2. OBVIOUSLY they DIDNOT read my profile
3. if they paid any attention at all, my journal would indicate in some way, for someone, that i am probably NOT the kind of property they seek ... i am not live in existence material!! i have a fucking brain!

so why not find that human toilet in Florida that wishes to be sold to an African warlord (or whatever) who will only exist and if her profile is true...will get Africa's pandemic!!

WTF is wrong with people?

YES...i am aware that peoples do what they do and can solicit...but damn...read a profile!!

back to your normally scheduled lives where you do what it is that you do..

Feel free to read previous post from Nella's rant in regards to "if all of us wrote a public post in response to every bad email we got, we'd have no time for anything else."

Is everyone's delete button suddenly becoming dysfunctional?

Your email is a lot more tasteful and grammar correct than 80% of the emails I get (and it's bad form to post private corresponse ESPECIALLY with names attached in a public forum).

Geez, looks like a nice note to me. I saw nothing about "on your knees 13itch!" in there. So you aren't interested? Why not write a note back saying "no thank you". It would have taken less time than it did for you to post your rant here.

Edited to add: I read your profile and skimmed your journal. I didn't see anything in there that would specifically preclude your being interested. Why not just make a note in your profile that you would prefer not to be contacted...that way you can contact someone if you are interested and won't get so worked up when people send you a nice note to see if you are compatible with them.

personally, i don't find anything offensive with that email you got, but then again i'm not one to get offended easily....the "on your knees bitch!" and "will u be my slave?" tend to irritate me a lot more....but with that said....rant all you want dear, we all do it, i don't think there are any rules here against ranting, are there? i haven't read the tos so maybe i'm speaking out of my ass here...if so, sorry : )

Most of what you comment on is VERY true.
As far as a "form letter" I also admit i have one..
Yes I do read profiles, If I feel I want to reply to an "ad" then I send the canned "hello" letter.
It is often added to depending on the person but since 98% or more females do not reply anyway its more of a "introduction" from me to them "IF" they reply then its definately a one on one communication from there.
Its a "start" an "introduction that "I" am interested in knowing them further. If they decide to look at my "ad" and reply then Great. If not then thats ok to, I am the first to admit I do not "fit" everyone. but then I am not looking for everyone just one.

Well I want to rant too..

I just re-edited my profile so it doesn't show. But when I got the initial email this morning, my profile said clearly that I was not looking for anything but friendships.

So why after a couple emails and the normal "How are you" small talk.. Would a Dom ask me.. "So what are your limits?"

Maybe its just me.. but I don't discuss those with anyone that I'm not planning on getting involved with. (unless its part of a board post or some actual platonic informative conversation)

Just drives me crazy.

Like the guy who wanted me to stay in IM and tell him what to do to his sub and he'd do it. Ugh, dumbass its your sub.

Or those that ask you question after question of stupid crap and never answer it themselves.. "So do you like sex?" "Do you like anal?" "Do you shave?" "Do you have large breasts?" etc and so on.

There is much more stuff that pisses me off.. but thats enough for this rant.

We are not going to stop this, except with O/our own ability to delete and/or block. Sounds like you are having a bad day. W/we all do, from time to time.
Unfortunately, most of the folks who send out these form letters are not the ones reading the forums. And many feel that, by playing the odds, they are bound to get a few positive responses. Chances are they are not going to change their way of approaching this.
I personally consider it lazy,for the most part (not you kinkupupper, you're not playing the odds), and usually shows a lack of interest in Me in particular. I am selfish enough to think that matters! *W*
Yes, it can get quite annoying, but I would probably be more disappointed if no one ever wrote to Me!

They sound kind of lame. It kind of hurts my feelings when people send me a form letter. It's like, "You read my entire profile and my entries and didn't find ONE little thing to comment on?"

Yeah he\they were guilty of being ignorant. Still it should be known by now that people troll the net doing this. I've been guilty of it, and so have others. It comes with the territory...Take it or leave it as the cliche goes.

I chose to delete and block that one.... there are always going to be people who send unsolicited mails, who don't bother to read profiles (I don't have a profile haha!) and who send ranting copy and paste letters. I just ignore them on move on.

I agree that people should read profiles, really READ them, before soliciting other people on this site. Mine clearly states that I am only looking for friends (platonic ones, thankyouverymuch) and yet I get solicited. I then refer them to my profile AGAIN, asking them to read it, and don't hear back. Sometimes politeness will beget politeness and that is heartening to see [:)] .

Sorry to burble this item to the top of the list again but I simply must agree.  I have found more and more IMs coming in that seem to make me wonder if my profile information is not showing or something.  Why? Because if you read my profile, I explain who I am and what I seek (just friendship and networking) very clearly. 

I appreciate people being nice and enthusiastic about talking with me.  Still,  it bothers me that no one takes time to read profiles anymore.  How are you to meet the right people if you dont read thier profile?
