Whispers of the madness
Echoes in my mind
If I slip too far inside
What monsters would I find
Chaos, fear, confusion
Just to name a few
There’s no telling what they’d say
Or what they’d make me do
Chaos came to visit often
If I let him in the past
Bringing pain and sorrow
And miseries that last
Then fear would rear his ugly head
To mock me as I fell
I can’t believe I lived so long
In that self created hell
Confusion always followed
Indecision by his side
Leaving me defenseless
With nowhere left to hide
Then one day came knocking
One who had a glow
She said “My name is hope dear”
“I’m here to help you grow”
In came joy and laughter
Bringing faith and love
Trust and learning followed
In ways yet undreamed of
I had to dig much deeper
These friends of mine to find
Serenity has found me
As I leave my past behind
The search for “me” continues
Who visits now I choose
As long as there is Balance
I know I cannot lose
