I have no idea if this is happening on a nationwide basis, but, do you think there will be a backlash against Sharpton/Jackson over the Imus Affair?  Their comments about this being only the beginning of their fight to "detoxify" the airwaves have been the main topic on talk radio I've heard the last few days (not just conservative).

Beyond airing the dirty laundry of those two (and there is a lot to wave around), I've also heard the phrase 'nappy-headed ho's' more than ever before.

CBS fired Imus.  Right, wrong or indifferent, that is the place to direct any backlash.  As for Sharpton and Jackson, while i have issues with both of them, no one condones what Imus said.  Even Condi Rice is happy Imus was fired.

Well, you can buy a baby onesie that says "Nappy Headed Ho" on it already.
Id say it's almost played out.

CBS fired Imus.

Very true, but Sharpton and Jackson are claiming the credit (or at least not rejecting it).  I think they have made a whole lot of new enemies out of people who previously only regarded them as fodder.

One backlash I'd like to see is the reduction of profits being made on gangsta rap songs with derogatory sexist references.

As far as I can see... their public media "hoes" aren't any different than Imus' public media "hoes."

We've already been talking about Jackson & Sharpton in random stupidity (that's where they belong)

I think we are hearing about it in such a non-stop fashion because it happened to a broadcaster, so other broadcasters find it of monumental importance.  If some guy working at a warehouse said the same thing and got fired for it, I assure you it would not be a week and a half of non-stop news coverage.  I am just waiting for some other public figure to do something stupid so we can at least have something else broadcast for awhile.

Where is Anna Nicole when we really need her?

No worries Krys.  The Phil Spector trial will be starting soon and that promises to take over the air and become THE most important topic of conversation.

Distractions from more important issues are always needed. I am sure it is easier for Jackson and Sharpton to deal with this, than to actually do something that may help the younger people not embrace a "prison culture". It is easier to scream at this and play the victim, than to improve yourself so that victimization does not occur. There is only one purpose in being a victim, and that is to be victimized.
