Status: offline 		There's no doubt in this poster's mind that particular clothes do not make a woman a domme nor a man a submissive. 
 
That being said, I'm curious as to the preferences of the female dominants in this forum as to what they prefer to wear when playing with their subs.  Do you like to wear fetish clothes like corsets and such (leather, satin or lace?), other lingerie, rubber gear, nothing at all, every day street clothing, or something else entirely? 
 
Along a similar vein, do you have a preference for how you like to have your sub dressed for play (or service)?  Do you prefer leather garments of some type, harnesses, sissywear, panties, full nudity, specific kinds of uniforms/costumes or something else?
 
I guess you could say, "Enquiring minds want to know!"

Status: offline 		theres another thread that covers the what you want your sub to wear, but I'll address the first part. I love corsets, but even more I like to be comfortable so more often its a tanktop and boyshorts that fit well.

Status: offline 		Whatever I feel like.  Usually street clothes but for me that is pretty dressed up.  Don't do fetishwear unless Daddy wants me to wear the latex, don't do it with the submales.

Status: offline 		I usually wear street clothes... but they can tend to be somewhat goth (and goth can often double for fetish type of clothes) ... and lately my street clothes have been more along the more expensive line and focusing on very luxurious feeling fabrics.

If I'm going sort of all out- which I rarely do- it tends to me along the lines of great lingerie and stockings and boots with a skirt and some sort of gothy top.

I'd LOVE a corset but I have yet to find the ~perfect~ one. And I'd like my first to be PERFECT. Silly perhaps.

In general I like my slaves to be anything but nude. One slave has a couple of special sissy cleaning outfits just for when he cleans. I like them because they really seem to inspire him to clean for hours and with much attention to detail. Other than that I really don't care what they wear.

One thing I just thought of... a lot of my scenes tend to be very much on impulse since I am a very spontaneous person- that is the main reason why I think most of my scenes have me in some variation of street clothes.

Leather bras (with lots of spikes), harnesses, panties, gloves, and thigh high boots.

Status: offline 		Seeing that my wardrobe is full of bizarre fetish outfits, I would have to own up to loving fet wear!
I make a lot of my own costumes because I love burlesque and can hardly ever find what Im really looking for.
I don’t have to dress up to play, in fact if I am going to do some extreme play in a club then I will normally get changed into something more comfortable but the whole dressing up part (for a club) is part of the enjoyment. It can start weeks before the night with planning what to wear and adding lots of finishing touches to your costume. By the time the nights arrived you are really in the mood.

Status: offline 		I love fetish wear. Stilettos, thigh high boots (well any kind of boots really), corsets, latex, PVC - I love to wear it. And I wear it for me. I wear it because I'm an exhibitionist, I love to show off, I love to get compliments, and I love how it makes me feel sexy.

And generally, when I play as a top, all the fetishwear ends up coming off so that I can move and be comfortable. I have heard at parties that my scenes are fun to watch because they are almost the only ones where the sub starts out naked, and the Domme strips as the scene goes along. :)

If a boy is serving me, I want him to be dressed appropriately to the service. Which means something that can get messed up if he's cleaning or doing yardwork, something that is appropriate to the situation if he is escorting me somewhere, something slightly fetishy if we are going to a fetish club or play party, etc. When we play, well I answered that in the other thread.

I'd have to say that PVC is the fabric of my fetish life as it is so versatile, but I also love latex, leather, tightlacer corsets -- if you see me at an event in just jeans and a tshirt, you know something is wrong that night. At the very least I'll have on a cute tshirt and some pvc jeans, for heaven's sake -- if I want to wear yoga pants I'll go to the gym!

As for submissives with me, it depends on their physique and interests. They may be crossdressed, or in a maid's outfit, a schoolgirl or just in black tshirt and black pants, but you can be damn sure they are going to look sharp and behave well. They usually end up naked and just in their collar at some point during the evening, but that does not mean they can schlepp around beforehand looking like they're going to the 7-11 for some nachos. They will compliment me visually as well as by their actions.

It's how I roll.

Status: offline 		I spend all my money on toys and tools and rarely any type of fetish clothing lol I do buy fetish style boots ( I LOVE boots lol) If I want to buy clothing for myself it would be centered around leather: chaps, pants, tops, jacket and a couple of skirts. Currently I typically wear (to events) jeans, boots and a black lace top with my black leather jacket if the weather is right. My style leans more towards leather sex than fetish. The same would be true most of the time regarding dressing a sub or slave.   Tigress~FL

Status: offline 		In order for me to feel myself and to feel dominant, I have to feel comfortable. I hate most of the fetish clothes for women, I can't even stand jeans for very long (they ride up to my rib cage and ouch).

As for a boy or girl I'm training or I own, I want simply clothing, button down shirts, something that would be quick to remove if necessary, something that is clean. Nothing on the feet at all unless it's chilly and socks are necessary or we are in public where shoes are safer.

I had to laugh when I read this post because it happened to me too. I was once wearing some dangerously high shoes and was just trying to walk over to a sub who was tied to a cross when I went arse over tit! I ended up with my head virtually resting on the guys feet… cringes!

I take it that in the US you don’t have to dress up for fetish clubs?
In the UK they have a fairly strict dress code.

I love anything black, shiny and tight. I also love boots and gloves.  I have a ton of fetish gear, but I prefer to wear it out clubbing/dancing, not to get dressed up just to dominate my partner.  When I dominate these days, it's a spur of the momet thing, and my partner is attracted to me regardless of what I am wearing.  When I was single, sometimes I'd get slightly fetishy to add a mood, but for the most part, I liked to be comfortable and spontaneous.

I like my  partner in tight, tight latex or black rubber also, but again, that's often less functional, and doesn't allow for spontaneous action.....

Status: offline 		Thank you ladies for the many responses and humorous anecdotes.  Its nice to know that so many women appreciate what lingerie and fetish wear can add to a scene with their submissives. 
 
If wearing fetish wear helps make a woman feel more dominant, sensual, sexy or attractive then it makes perfect sense to me for her to utilize it to her advantage.  The same could be said of wearing items that can cause a man to feel more submissive to his Mistress.  I recognize this all must fall within the realm of practicality; that comfort, convenience, spontaneity and timing all can affect the choices (or lack thereof) which are made.
 
AAkasha perhaps said it best with: "my partner is attracted to me regardless of what I am wearing." 
 
I feel very much the same about my Mistress.  In the end, what she wears really doesn't matter, but I genuinely do appreciate it when she takes the time and makes the effort to appear more sensual and dominant.  When she does, it definitely causes me to feel decidedly more submissive toward her.  There are certain items she often has me wear that will definitely push triggers within me that cause me to feel substantially more submissive toward her as well.   
 
Thanks Majik for the comment about liking your sub naked in a leather ball stretcher.  I absolutely love wearing those myself!    Who knows, as deliciously wicked & creative as my new Mistress can be, eventually she might have mine out to near my knees! 
 
Its my opinion that fetish wear and other items can both set the stage and be symbolic of the power exchange that occurs between a Mistress and her sub, that while not required, can truly serve to enhance the experience being shared.

Status: offline 		I only wear fetish clothing a couple of times/year, when attending fetish events, and even than it is minimal, because I'm not fetish wear driven, nor do I want to attract someone because he thinks I wear leather and 3-4" heels all the time.  For those reasons, I dress as I normally would when going out, and how dressy I get, depends on the event/venue.     
As for fetish wear on a man, I like a well dressed man, which usually is minimum fetish wear, and a good amount of relaxed style; the less physically tight he is, the less fetishy he should dress in if he wants to attract my attention in a good way.   M

I dress for pleasure and enjoy other sensual treats when engaging in play.  Sometimes I'll just wear certain street clothes that set a mood while out in public.  Does anyone ever do it in their PJ's?   Ooops I only just read other responses, apparently some have.

I am very into my material fetish though.  Namely total body enclusure kinds of things.  Espeically with rubber and lycra/spandex.  Satin sheets,  kinky boots and shoes, corsettry.  PVC garments too.

As for specific sub gear.  A good gag.  A collar and leash.  Shackles.  Posture collar.  All those would be fun.  Mummification in saran wrap and duct tape, that was a blast.

I'm dating someone now and we have similar fetishes.  So that makes it easy for us to both enjoy those.

Ah well I've rambled enough.
