this is in the general direction......I am not posting answer to anyone in particular............nearly every state has wild roses....... Y'all are scaring me. I just had my first experience with rattan. Today! Amazed I can sit. 20 strokes, no warmup. Punishment, of course. Not even allowed to make a sound other than counting for the first ten. Later, He told me He would have stopped if I had really asked. He also said He was pleased that I took it all. [:)] ps77

I've never been a fan of disfiguring my property and go to great pains (pun intended) to avoid leaving cuts and abrasions that will last longer than a day or two, for both practical and aesthetic reasons. Yes, I know I'm in the minority on that. I'm fond of using bunches of stinging nettles. Here in the midwest, they can be found all over the place from spring to fall. Fresh bunches last just as long as they need to before disintegrating. When you're done with them, you can just pitch 'em. -SD-
