Ok so I'm looking for a good truck driving company pretty much anywhere in the US and Canadian areas. I've gotten my paperwork out there and pretty much have the pick of the litter. The only problem I see now is finding out what areas have good communities. Yes...I know I can Google search them, but it doesn't really give me an objective look at what that region's "feel" is. Of course, it's just as possible that all of them are effectively the same, like a lot of GLBT communites. Anyway, I suppose I'm just kind of venting a bit. Thanks for lettin' me bitch.

I don't know if Jb Hunt is stil hiring but my SO just started with them but i would suggest them avoid Scheinider National if you can. As for somewhere to live what are you lookiing for weather wise? Thats the best way to look at it. As much as I'd rather be elsewhere Portland maine is very nice.

I'm thinking something like Portland, OR...or Canada. Something wet, cold, and green. Everything that Kansas is not. I've also looked at WA, IL, IN, and KE so far as other choices. Thanks for the heads up on Scheinider, but I hadn't heard much about Jb Hunt that was good to be honest.

Come and live in England and drive to Europe for me. Its wet, cold and green here apart from the summer, and you get to visit all those countries and get paid around USD 40k/year for it too. E

In 5 years you'll either figure it out or you'll be a fat fuck complaining about not getting laid enough....in the meantime...get behind a wheel, put some money in the bank and fix my motherfucking Toyota....there's good money in it...and I'm tired of getting 75% of the gas mileage that I should be getting. Not sure what the beef is with Schneider National.....my parents retired from the company, they loved it...so much that they are back out on the road, with 2 cats and a dog in tow. They ended up going with another company only because Schneider doesn't allow pets on board. Hell, as far as finding a place to settle, use the time on the road to decide! You'll see all parts of the country, and can decide that way. Since you are young, you have options that alot of people don't. There are lots of jobs to be had in the trucking business, once you get a couple of years on the road, you can pick and choose your company. As far as JB Hunt goes, they ship alot of their freight by rail, and pretty much truck in the middle part of the country.....i've been out here in AZ for almost 3 years, and can say that i don't think i've ever seen a JB hunt rig pass thru. It's like any other job and company...check them all out and make your decision. Only you will know what will work for you. Good luck.....
