pahunkboy -> quirks of nonprofits (4/17/2007 3:46:00 PM)

anyone with any exposure to the nonprofit crowd- feel free to vent here.

i drove a distance to use a credit i had- at a thrift store.  im mad.  being that i cancelled/delayed an order before my house was mine- they have this major attitude.

to discuss my 50% credit of over $500; i was asked to make an appointment. i resent that.  at issue was the fact that i wont/cant be reliable to volunteer at a store. instead- i offerred to train folks in the community computer skills.

anyhow- the nice stuff is "saved" for habitat for humanity--which i in fact participated in.

----all of this- is one thing. but it got me thinking on how angry i am over being screwed 1k on this place.

nonprofits are a strange world.

meanwhile- im filing a formal complaint with HUD over the shortfall per my closing.

back to the post.  i fail to see what this nonprofit actually does to "help" ppl.

under rules of US disability- you may volunteer up to x amount of hours in a month. if you exceed this number- by law- you are to return that months check. careful- this includes tutoring and babysitting.........
