Great post (and use of a link!)

...gonna run my numbers later, but for now, don't knock Al Gore too hard.

He's the one who got us talking about carbon, and on the internet !

i don't drive very much at all & i live alone...i don't have any newspapers or glass to recycle so the only other thing on the list that i could start recycling would be plastic, which would reduce my emissions about .5%  i think i'll just keep doing what i'm doing....

I agree about Al Gore ..........but his carbon footprint is unfortunate.  We do not have a great recycling system in place where I live, but I want to do the little things like compact flourescent light bulbs and such.  The calculator was on ABC news yesterday morning......I was genuinely curious to what mine might be so I hoped that other might be as well regardless of anyone views of global warming or Al Gore for that matter....BTW The report stated the average person is 20,000 lbs a year. (edited because of Losttreasure pointed it out)  It is a avg adult person, not family or at least it was the reference point I used as a single adult.  I dont recall the show's dialogue verbatim. I just wanted to throw a reference point out there. Thanks LT

The report might have said that, but the calculator says quite plainly that, "41,500 pounds is about average in the United States for a household of two people over a year."  Since the average family size in the US is 3.14 people, that number would be slightly higher still.
