I suffer from hypoglycemia as well... mine is from some malfunction in the pancreas that triggers it to release too much insulin as a result of sugar intake. I am supposed to follow a diabetic diet... limit sugar, small meals real often etc. What I have found that works for me is to make sure my snacks and meals are high in fiber and protein. If I get enough protein, I can eat pretty much whatever I want. Like others, I try to keep snacks handy, in the car and glucose tablets in my purse. I have found that I have a much harder time keeping things level when the seasons change from winter into summer(here in the So Cal desert we only have 2 seasons). I am sure it is because I am a lot more active. Also staying hydrated plays a big role as does stress and being ill. I have a series of symptoms that "usually" happen... ie, I get the shakes that feel like they are from the inside out, sweat, feel nauseas, get real pale, almost gray... if my ears start ringing and I get tunnel vision it is usually too late and I will faint so if for some reason I get to that point, I sit down wherever I happen to be and ask for help because I've fallen before and injured a window sill(poor thing). [8|] On the other hand, every once in a while I have a freak episode that just happens out of nowhere... this has happened before when I've hurt myself. Just something about stubbing and breaking a toe that sucks all the glucose from my bloodstream. I usually just become irritated, very confused, can't seem to put words together, small motor skills such as writing etc tend to go away. And when it is all said and done and my sugar is back up, I am wiped out for several hours. I have yet to have any trouble when playing/sceneing at all so I guess just making sure I am fed and hydrated works fine for me. Good luck to you, cali
