I don't necessarily find them sexy...but it's not something I'd turn someone away for. It shows that you're willing to work and must have some kind of practical side.

I have a farmer's tan of sorts. My forearms are ALWAYS darker than the rest of my body. I wear t-shirts all the time...and so, even if I'm inside 95% of the time, my forearms are what gets the sun when I DO go outside.

Ok, I get to play the stupid one here. What's the difference between a farmers tan and any other tan? A tan is a tan right?

A classic "Farmer tan" is where the tan line is on the upper arm and around the base of the beck because of a t-shirt. There might also be a tan line on the upper legs from shorts, a tan line from a watch and a tan line on the forehead from a cap.

Hehe! Don't worry Hutch, I had never heard the term either till I had a white roommate (I'm Mexican-American btw). A farmer's tan is when you're outside a lot and your face/neck/arms are dark, but your chest is white. As I said, I'm Mexican American so it's really noticable. And it's not like I work outside or anything; I just live in California!

LOL! It's ok...i'm finding a lot of terms in here i've never heard of. I think I need to go back to school or something. :P I wish I could tan, but being mostly irish....I burn like a lobster. :P

It's not something I find sexy, and I hate mine, because I love how white my skin is normally, and I think it looks dumb when my forearms are noticably darker. But it's also not a turn off.

I like a farmers tan, but then again I also prefer men in tee shirts to tank tops or anything like that. So for me, a farmers tan means you are in a tee shirt most of the time. Give me a man with a nice farmers tan, in jeans with his tee shirt tucked into the back of his jeans.... purr

Hm...I think this kind of perving is easy to tolerate

I think I decided to lose the tan...Luckily my apartment faces east to west, so I can just open the door and lie on my couch in the morning to tan. Shoot I can even watch TV while I"m doing it!
