Urethral sounds can be very dangerous if not used correctly. First, the area, sounds, and hands must be sterile, to prevent bacterial infection. It's imperative to use sterile lube, such as a fresh tube of KY Jelly (the plain stuff, which is some of the only lubricant guaranteed sterile). Second, if the sounds are not the correct size when instered, they may slide in too quickly (if too small) and do damage, or too large may stretch your urethra, though you will be surprised how large the correct size is. Also, when they are inserted, it should be gravity which pulls it in, and the person handling the sounds simply guides it, and prevents it from sliding in too quickly. If it is shoved in, it can do damage. Third, if you ejaculate during it, the pressure against the sounds (because the sound is blocking your urethra) can potentially blow out the side of your urethra, which is Very Bad. Now that I've scared you, I love doing sounds, and my boys tend to love it as well. You just really need to know what you're doing. I may also have forgotten something in my warnings - I'm profficient, and can do it safely, but I am by no means expert enough to teach anyone else. Basically, pleasure-wise, it's simply that you are stimulating the prostate from the inside, where it wraps around your urethra. Or at least, that's what Sir Scott taught us in the most recent workshop I attended. All I know for certain is that if you can relax, hold very still, and enjoy it, it can feel very nice.
