Coming up with new things about sex isn't easy.  Coming up with things that you were unaware others did is far more common.  I doubt I am the first to ever do some of the things I do but I think that at least some of them I came upon the idea myself with no outside help.  There are some techniques for positive reinforcement I use that I came up with myself.  I use a child's soft plastic egg as a ball gag that can be used in public, again, I am sure others do this but I hadn't seen it done.  I don't know many Dominants who carry peacock feather fans but again, I cannot imagine I am unique in that regard.

However, I am sure my attempts are simply what we call "reinventing the wheel" as sex has been around for several decades and I hear the Roman's and Greeks were active participants...

Well nothing that I don't think someone's already done before.  I just heard of the idea of doing macrame on pressure points for bondage a few weeks ago- that was a nifty idea for me but I'm sure it's been around for centuries.

Although doing an entire scene as "Master Grover" from Sesame Street was pretty original for me- playing cartoon characters and puppets in scenes I'm sure has been done before.

One thing I can say is I've been greatly discussing cuttings with someone.
He's describing an ornate vine he cuts from your shoulder to the opposite hip.
He then takes needles that he's made little rose buds on the griping end and inserts them along the vine. He also takes needles with leaves on the heads and inserts them every so often and ends with cutting additional leaves into the subs skin.
I've seen some ornate needle art & cuttings, but this sounds very intricate and delicate.
I've not seen anything like this in books or heard of any cut/piercings like this.
I've been interested in cutting the whole 2 yrs I've been around, but not actually been willing to do it yet.
This idea sounds so beautiful I'm considering trying it with him once I know him better

Wow this sounds just amazing. I love the art side of needle play.

I recently sutured an elaborate feather necklace onto a Dommes neck. Not sure if its been done before but Im sure it was the first Domme to take it!…

I once did a flesh hook suspension for a performance and I know lots of them have been done but with this one I set him on fire.

Hmm we had a poster back in 04 who came on who had the most gorgeous pictures of wide white wings needled into her back.  Delicious.
