rotary dial phones (nobody ever said press 1 for English)

sitting around the TV together Sunday night watching "Bonanza"

riding in the back of an old pick up truck (the one where the wheels kind of stuck out)

bringing a battery operated, portable record player & your favorite 45's to school on the bus (most everybody wanted to sit by that person) lol

This all made me smile.

We would watch The Wonderful World of Disney on Sunday evenings.

When you rode in the back of a pick up truck did you sit on the edges like we did?

I had a portable record player - with an orange top :)

I also had a transistor radio that I'd keep under my pillow at night and fall asleep listening to the Red Skelton show....

There was a really nice restarant here called pinkies, Dianne and Gary, a middle aged couple ran it, it came under new management, and not only is the food not as good it's 3 bucks more per item, a bacon double western cheese burger used to be like 3 bucks now it's 4.99. plus the new owners painted it horrid mint green with pink trim.

I miss the old mom and pop diners.  The authentic ones.  They've been insidiously replaced with Steak and Shakes and IHOPs.  Sure, there are one or two in town, but there used to be many more.
