kaie -> Submissive Head Space? (4/23/2007 4:48:18 AM)

Greetings All,

i have a question and hope that ya'll can bear with me. Sometimes i have a problem forming my thoughts into written words that make sense.

i was wondering if there is such a thing as head space, kind of like subspace? i don't think i’ve ever experienced subspace but i’ve had periods of time where i’m feeling particularly submissive, more than usual, and i seem to walk around in a daze. It usually occurs when my husband puts me in a place (mentally). We are still learning and i am more interested in this lifestyle than he seems to be most times, but he has times where He really gets into it and will go all out. When He does this i find it hard to make the most mundane of decision, which normally isn't a problem at all, i make many important decisions all day everyday. i seem to walk around on cloud nine, with a goofy far off look in my eyes. The best way i can describe it is like being slightly intoxicated and your body's there but your mind isn't. This might occur for a few hours or even a few days. Does this state of mind happen to others? Does it have anything to do with being submissive or is it just absent mind syndrome? Thanks for your time and patience.

Respectfully,
kaie

kaie, I guess this can be a sort of submissive headspace but it sounds more like it's heavy infatuation with your husband's part in the D/s dynamic you want so much. I love being put in my place, and with Master being two hours away and having a busy life of his own, I don't get all of it I want; therefore, when I do get it, I can feel kind of floaty and absent, like I am outside my own body. That's not subspace per se.

Doesn't matter, though. Enjoy it. Go with it. Feel it every time you can. Life is for living, for enjoying; and although humans ~love~ to label things to define them and thus enhance our understanding (and therefore the enjoyment), calling a feeling "X" when it is really "Y" makes no difference in the experience of it.

hi kaie

i personally think there is a submissive head space at times.  i have also been in positions where i make a lot of difficult decisions during the day and come home and Master does or says something just right and i am in a complete submissive space and couldn't make a decision if i wanted to.  treasure the moments and respond to them as you can, in my experience they don't happen to everyone or as often as many of us would like [;)]

The answer to any question that starts "Does anyone else...?" is always YES.

What you are describing is actually what many would call subspace.

But generally, you're just high on the feeling.  As long as it doesn't interfere with getting stuff done, enjoy.

Yeah, I can get into this mental space real easy.  I never thought of it as subspace because I always thought subspace to be something that happened as a result of intense pain play and I don't necessarily require direct physical stimulus.  I just call it a submissive head space or something along those lines.

For me it's just opposite when Master says or does something that takes me deeper in my submission i become hyper alert to every nuance of what he says or does.  I am guess i am just wired that way.

When he puts 100% of his attention on me this happens. He's also been known to induce it by biting the side of my neck. That one he does in the middle of an ordinary conversation. He enjoys then seeing me unable to answer a simple question or remember what we were talking about afterwards.

Sometimes I feel like that.  I think it's just infatuation and adoration and fuzzy lovey doveyness on my part.  I enjoy that being put in my place feeling too.  Just ride it out and appreciate it for what it is.

I like some others that have replied have that feeling at times I don't really know what makes me go into that feeling but it happens and I enjoy it. I don't know if it would be called subspace or not. IMO it is close to how I feel in subspace.
