This post could go nowhere but the ' random stupidity' thread.

Just watched Sling Blade... what a great and important movie... but (there is always a but..)

The cheesy assed lame sound track really damaged the film.

Thank you, I play all week...

Awww, yah!

I feel the same way about LadyHawke. That was such a romantic, sweet fairytale... with the corniest early 80s synthesizer soundtrack *ever*

And to think Alan Parsons did the music. Shame on them

Woah, Allen Parsens... there's a name I haven't heard since finishing up puberty!

StellaByStarlite -> RE: Shitty sound track (4/23/2007 3:35:09 PM)

Greatest soundtrack *ever*...

Ok, it's a toss up... Goodfellas and American Grafitti.

Nope nope, hands down the bbc version of Pride and Prejudice... there is an augmented 6th chord perfectly timed to Mr. Darcy, in his mustard colored pants walking up the hill... oh never mind!

The worst soundtracks, imo, are those that have really really great songs in the film... BUT don't add those great songs to the CD. Instead, you get instrumental [:'(], or songs that weren't even in the movie.. [:'(][:'(][:'(] (Blade & Ghostrider are two examples)

Goodness, I love a woman who can identify an augmented sixth chord...or a sharp 13....prrrrrr

As for me, the perfectly blank one note piano 'ping' in "Eyes Wide Shut" was a brilliant backdrop for many moments in that movie ( I know, many did not like it...but I loved it for many reasons)

Boogie Nights has a good sound track.

My mistake, I posted a soundtrack that I thought was good....as for bad....couldn't begin to name the British film I bought on sale at a local pharmacy for $1.99, but it had Michael York in it, was set about 100 years ago, and had the most obnoxious classical soundtrack that dominated the scenes and dialogue and had nothing to do with the emotions of the moment....lesson learned, $1.99 doesn't buy alot of art.

puella -> RE: Shitty sound track (4/24/2007 3:04:28 AM)

I think you can get a Monet fridge magnet at the Met for $1.99.... oh wait.. $199.00... never mind!

Oh, hell yeah!  That one pool party scene, when " Spill The Wine" was playing.. that was just awesome! LOL

I love soundtracks that completely capture the era.

You know what was actually a great sound track (better than the movie, and it made the book as a movie a possibility, in my opinion) was The Bridges of Madison County.... lots of great old blues/jazz.

soultoshare -> RE: Shitty sound track (4/24/2007 8:59:33 AM)

Actually, the sound track to Maximum Overdrive was great...all AC/DC!  I don't buy much soundtrack music.....the best soundtrack in a movie is the one you don't hear while watching it.....

subtravels -> RE: Shitty sound track (4/27/2007 11:12:34 PM)

Shoot, you could buy a used refrigerator for $199 [;)]

Dastardly -> RE: Shitty sound track (4/28/2007 4:05:32 AM)

I know this is supposed to be about shitty soundtracks but I'm chucking my vote in for amazing soundtrack - 'The Fountain' Clint Mansell and the Kronos Quartet - stunning.
