Yanno, out of curiousity I cruised through some other forums that I do not usually travel around in just to take a peek and see if I could find silly annoying girlie talk... I did find it because I guess I was actually looking...WEG... it is strange how things like that just fly under the radar when you are not paying attention!

It is pretty patheic, most of the topics are boring also.  Feel free to post on
Ask A Mistress section, we don't tend to act that way.

I have been partaking of this razor sharp icky sweetness for about an hour... it is like a car accident, kinda hard to turn away, and yet I cannot respond to it because then I would lack "tolerance", and in regard to your OP, um, I have never seen the likes of that among my kind before today.

(Perhaps the better question would be... why do I find it so vastly annoying?)[;)]

i would prefer to address this question as i have recently came upon quite an epiphany about things that irritate me. How others behave really should not have an influence on me one way or the other. If i look at behaviour that people display and they trigger emotion in me, i have to ask myself why?
The answer can be found in one of two questions... is this a quality in me that i dislike and therefore seeing it displayed irritates me?
or is it a quality of someone that i once had in my life that i never really dealt with?
i am not sure if either of these questions may enlighten you but i wanted to put it out there so that you could perhaps realize why these "silly" girls (to which i very much can be and moreover enjoy thoroughly for the record) trigger a reaction within you.

puella -> RE: How not to make friends and alienate like peoples.... (4/25/2007 2:41:35 AM)

Perhaps.... there are only the two options, you say?

servilecat -> RE: How not to make friends and alienate like peoples.... (4/25/2007 2:51:28 AM)

That's so strange...i was just over at the 'subs that dont know their place' forum just to see where it had gone to since i posted there last night and sure enough...it had gone to lala land with silly subs....adorable but silly, giggling subs

After two pages of that, i had forgotten what the original post was all about.

I've met a few subs from this site and we've gotten together for dinner and cocktails, we've never gone silly though.  We tend to talk about the lifestyle, our lives and yes, we do talk about some people on the boards too.
I've had far worse experiences at munches, as far an inappropriate behavior goes.

Actually I have not noticed a lot of giggly type behavior...I have noticed joking, and I rather enjoy that... but dominants joke on here too.

Especially the twue ones [X(]

puella -> RE: How not to make friends and alienate like peoples.... (4/25/2007 3:01:46 AM)

Hmm, hadn't caught that one, but, see.... now that I have opened the box for you you will see it everywhere! Everywhere!!! Sorry! hehe

StellaByStarlite -> RE: How not to make friends and alienate like peoples.... (4/25/2007 4:48:09 AM)

What you see as silly airheaded bimbosity, I see as inane cliquishness. Both are equally annoying, lol.

When I see a gaggle of women act like that, in real life or online, my gossip radar goes skyhigh. I'm not saying that every group of females that get together and giggle are catty. but if the behavior swings that way ( and it often does), I'm never too surprised.

wandersalone -> RE: How not to make friends and alienate like peoples.... (4/25/2007 4:59:11 AM)

I have a feeling that the behaviour of some people is much more pronounced online than it would be in real life. From reading the forums it sounds like a number of people have built up friendships with other members and they appear to post very regularly at particular times - eg. when it is late at night in the northern hemisphere, so the thread starts to resemble a chatroom.  My own feeling is that rather than it being groups of people such as submissive women who act in particular ways, it is that there are people who post on the forums a lot who have particular styles eg. like to whine about everything, full of doom, full of their own self-importance or unworthiness, immature etc.  My personal experience is that if I find a particular thread becoming annoying to read because of the posters I close it.  I have wondered if I am becoming more rigid and less accepting of ninnies as I get older however I prefer to not let unimportant stuff annoy me.[:)]

puella -> RE: How not to make friends and alienate like peoples.... (4/25/2007 5:17:49 AM)

To be honest, I did not post my OP as a total rant against something that 'annoys' me.  In the grand scheme of things, it doesn't really matter what annoys me or how much something annoys me (not even to me, to be honest...).

What 'intrigued' me was the diminution certain 'types' exhibit, and the factors that can either mitigate or speed that degenerating process up.

I also wonder at the motivators of the behavior.  I am less likely to take the 'face value' answer that it is just a bunch of women who have not emotionally/psychologically developed past the first blushes of pubescent maturation.  I think there is a reason women (and men) think that it is 'charming' to see women behaving in that manner and that that is the most 'natural' or appealing or (here comes my catch phrase, sorry) the most slaviest slave behavior.

I do think that there are other motivations behind this kind of response in women.  Again, that blonde bimbo archetype=girliest most feminine example of womanhood is ticking away in the back of my mind... and I do not think that ill informed male sub is the only one who holds that archetype as the quintessence of  the feminine.

I do think it is interesting that if you quarter those women off, the behavior does not diminish but flourish.  It also schools them, in my opinion, to slip the slaviest slave panting into their other interactions, which, though perhaps more subtle, still smacks of that diminution and the manipulations they are allowed to own.

Dunno, it's early and I am living in my brain.

juliaoceania -> RE: How not to make friends and alienate like peoples.... (4/25/2007 8:36:08 AM)

I saw a bit of girlie hiarchy and competition going on... who is the most pleasing of us all... he he

puella -> RE: How not to make friends and alienate like peoples.... (4/25/2007 8:37:44 AM)

hehe ... Indeed, I think I would know the answer were I to ask Sinergy  :)

CuriousLord -> RE: How not to make friends and alienate like peoples.... (4/25/2007 8:45:58 AM)

Gaggles of giggling girls aren't all that bad.  They actually amuse me pretty well, provided that they can be quiet.

Vendaval -> RE: How not to make friends and alienate like peoples.... (4/25/2007 2:53:10 PM)

Why do you think gags are so popular?  [X(]

I second this recommendation.  The Mistress section has a
very mellow, supportive, female energy most of the time,
managing to be both serious and fun without being
mindless and bickering.

Now I am not saying that the sub/slave section is always
that way or that all of the posters there behave in such
a manner.  There are some interesting contributors and
posts in that section as well, from all genders.

astarri -> RE: How not to make friends and alienate like peoples.... (4/25/2007 3:15:47 PM)

i do not claim to be able to speak for you although i kind of get the impression that you do not want yourself to be "painted with the same brush". You do not want others to assume you are silly or frivilous. That is perfectly okay, nor would i want someone to assume that of myself. I do however believe there is a time and place for silly. So yes i would say that this reaction could have come from being thought of this way once by someone or knowing someone like that who really let you down. Of course i do not know you and these are blind stabs. Hope it has been useful ...if not ...completely disregard it.

"Bimbo" has been used in reference here and i believe there is very much a difference between bimbo and silly. Silly is fun and lets people laugh. Bimbos generate hostility or pity or maybe desire in some people. I consider myself to be quite intelligent; intelligent enough to realize there is a time and place for all behaviours that make up our personalitites.
