Hello to all you fine mistresses. I am looking for a dominant lady to have a long term relationship with and I need to know some things about it. First, what is the selection process like. How long does it take and what criteria do dommes use? Then, what about work. My degree hasn't helped with a career, so I have been working unskilled jobs saving up money. How much of a factor are jobs and do the particular jobs matter? Any help you could give me based on these questions is greatly appreciated.

I would say about the same in a vanilla relationship. You're also pretty young - you have time to find a good job, and time to continue your education as well if that's what you choose to do.

...fast reply Different Ladies have different criteria. I think honesty is probably one of the most important qualities any woman will seek.

The selection process is different for every woman. Most expect obedience at the very least. There is no set length of time or criteria for picking a sub. I know that most dommes want a sub w/ a job. Explaining that you've been taking anything rather than be unemployed will help OODLES. Letting them know you have a degree and are seeking other, more gainful work while still holding down a job will probably be a big plus too. ~E

I have a degree and have worked hard for a living all of my life. I expect a male I am involved with to have the ability to provide for himself, and to have direction in life along with stability of the emotional and financial kind. Also of the utmost importance is for a male to have intelligence beyond naming the various brands of beer, and to have class above excusing himself after belching at the table. A college education usually helps in both of these areas (though not always). It's amazing how many males in the lifestyle are so unstable across the board. To the OP: While I am sure there are some intelligent people working for very low wages at remedial jobs.... but typically, the low paying, unskilled jobs are performed by people who are unskilled and who are not capable of anything better. Since you are young, it's probably not as much of an issue for you as long as you have motivation, intelligence, maturity and direction to go onto bigger and better things.

Since each of us is totally different yet some are similar [;)], I'll just give My criteria. I like to email back and forth for a week or 3 if it's someone I've encountered online. Then they have to show up to meet Me at some public place for a cuppa or glass of wine. If it's someone I've met at a fetish event, I want to have them come over to the house & talk a few times. Then, I want to play with them once or twice at parties. I want a "boy" who's mature enough to have a realistic view of a BDSM relationship. He needn't know it at first, he must learn it, though. He must have enough of a work ethic to either be steadily in school or at a job fulltime. It need not be a fantastic job, but he has to get up every day & go; show up ontime, do his job well, not spend hours bitching about said job to Me.
