It's going to depend on 1) if I've read it before and just need a refresher, 2) if I have the time...I read slowly because I'm dyslexic and 3) if I think it's important or interesting. I wouldn't read the tax code simply to read. I'd read the tax code if I was going to be tested on it.

Well, I can only say that I wish you folks had been in my class---things would have been far more interesting!

(Of course, maybe you're just the people who "did the reading" on the link....*smile*)

I'm a big, big reader and now attempting to write my own book. I have done a lot of research on the net for my writing, but found that actually a lot of the information i got was infactual or just plain wrong.
I try very hard to never see the movie of a book before i have read the book and always find the films pale in comparison. If i was still in school / college and studying english lit i would always prefer to read the book than pick up info from a website.
I would be one very unhappy girlie without a world full of books for me to read.

i have always loved reading.  when i was in grade school, i spent my time reading the encyclopedia.  Now that i have gotten older i have a tendancy to speed read.  Where i read things to get the highlights and ignoring articles such as the, a and an,  in a post.
