Just curious what percentage of the CC "regulars" filter out EVERYTHING coming from men, submissives in particular.  There have been a couple of times that i thought of writing to female s-types who had posted thoughts to the forums that really resonated with me, only to abandon the message halfway through because it would likely never be seen. Should there be a "don't speak unless spoken to" rule, as has been in place in some e-mail lists i've been on? Should a male who is truly is only looking for friends to talk with online stick to female profiles? Whatchoo think?

sambamanslilgirl -> RE: Submales and junkmails! (4/25/2007 6:34:09 AM)

i filter out all females (subs/Dommes), couples, anyone younger than 25 and from foreign countries. then again, no one really sends me mail anyway

Domin8tingUrDrmz -> RE: Submales and junkmails! (4/25/2007 6:49:25 AM)

I only filter out those who do not have profiles.

SweetDommes -> RE: Submales and junkmails! (4/25/2007 6:55:00 AM)

I have specifics on who I filter out.  Dominant and switch males, anyone from another country, anyone who is more than 4 years younger or 6 years older than I am, no profiles, all females ... and I can't remember what else.  But at any rate, none of your choices really fit what we filter (since there is no option to pick multiples) so I decline to vote.

I filter out all mail from Dominant and switch males, those outside the country, those outside of my target age range, and couples.  Female Dominants, female submissives, and male submissives can get through.  While I am seeking a male submissive, I am open to friendships with other women.

Wow! Honestly, i've never played with the filter system, so i didn't realize how sophisticated it was... i'm just accustomed to seeing "Any messages from men will go to junk mail and get deleted unread" in profiles.

i think i'll start blocking all the 99-year-olds [:)]

Vendaval -> RE: Submales and junkmails! (4/26/2007 3:31:48 AM)

I do not use the filter function.  I reply to most messages,
but not those that are form letters or written in very poor
English from a foreign country, or the ones that are simply
inane and incomprehensible.

leakylee -> RE: Submales and junkmails! (4/26/2007 4:25:40 AM)

i filter all submales, all switches, anyone from a foreign country. i think that is about it. it amazes me how many Ma'am letters i still get. i think it was 3 so far this week. while that may not seem high, that is only since tuesday, and i am listed as a bloody slave. wonder where a dink cap is for some people. oi...

I read all emails sent to me and do not filter out anything.  Having said that there are only a very few people that I continue ongoing email contact with, I am not a big fan of the endless typing to someone I would not ultimately really want to meet for a drink.

m0rgan -> RE: Submales and junkmails! (4/26/2007 5:01:38 AM)

i filter out all men, but check my bulk mail folder regularly. i would like to filter on "polite and honest people only" sadly that option is not available and the dishonest people would lie about it anyway!!

DiurnalVampire -> RE: Submales and junkmails! (4/26/2007 5:05:05 AM)

I filter out by age range, not by gender or orientation. I wonder if there is a filter to work on people outside the US, since I have never gotten am email from a friend who is not form the states... just the random spammers who swear they are going to bring me the riches they have to alow them to serve me.

Twicehappy2x -> RE: Submales and junkmails! (4/26/2007 6:30:31 AM)

I actually read all the mail i get, i have friends of every type on cm.  In truth i've only ever even blocked one person.

SunNMoon -> RE: Submales and junkmails! (4/26/2007 10:08:48 AM)

I read everything. But I only get e-mail from a couple of people. So I only get maybe 2 or 3 e-mails day anyways and those are from people which I write to on a regular basis.

mstrjx -> RE: Submales and junkmails! (4/26/2007 10:51:05 AM)

Being a man, my mailbag isn't as tightly packed as it could be.

Most of my mail is from people reading posts wanting to comment; why would I want to deny those?

Any stray mail is generally 'interest' email.  I might or might not be interested in all of those inquiries, but again, why not at least read what's there and see?

Aileen68 -> RE: Submales and junkmails! (4/26/2007 11:01:12 AM)

I don't filter out anything just because I exchange mail with a lot of people from this side who fall outside of the norm of what I'd be searching for.

FelinePersuasion -> RE: Submales and junkmails! (4/26/2007 11:48:46 AM)

I blocked mails from men  who were not in my state, and then I emailed someone and I didn't think about it at all and his mail went into my junk drafts so I took that feature off.

domiguy -> RE: Submales and junkmails! (4/26/2007 12:27:00 PM)

I filter out women that are cunts....New feature on CM.

I read everything... even troll im's [:D]. But I'm nosy, soooo.... meah. Imnsho, write to whomever strikes your fancy. You never know. I've had Dom's im me (I'm listed as Lesbian, and emphatically state that I do not sub to males), wanting to know why I've viewed their profile - what I found attractive, turn-off, etc. Others just want someone to chat with, get an idea of what is expected (usually this is from 'older' Doms who aren't that familiar with nettequette). Some are less than pond scum, but to date, I've only had maybe half a dozen.

No, I don't think there should be a "don't speak unless spoken to" rule. If no one speaks, how do you get spoken to??? Besides, this IS the net. Freaks, wannabee's and gov't conspirists abound. Don't like it? Get off the net! Simple [:)]

As for sub males... I answer all im's. Even one-liners. Sometimes they write back with another one-liner... on and on until they get rude or stop iming me. Others have become rather good online friends, and are now on my MSN list. *shrugs* Depends on the person.

Good luck & best wishes [sm=hello.gif]

I prefer to make my decisions based on people as individuals, not as members of a group.  I have had intelligent, worthwhile conversations with people of all sexes, orientations, places etc. on this site.
