For me it is all about "balance". There is a time and a place for humor and seriousness. Many people simply do not know when either is appropriate and thus irritate others. Some are simply stuck in one mode (serious or humorous) the majority of the time. If the person that told you that is in a "serious" mindset the majority of the time then I am sure you do irritate him or her "if" you are in a humorous mindset most of the time. They think you do not take things seriously and you think they are serious enough for everyone lol It is simply personality differences. Shit happiness lol Good Luck! Tigress~FL

I am a lot like you sunfleur I tend to find the humorous side of things whenever I can. I also suffer from the giggles often at times that might be thought of as inappropriate. One of my fondest memories of a past Master was one night when he tied me sitting in a chair in a hotel room and started to flog me... what he didn't account for were the very well oiled wheels on the chair. The flogger would hit I'd jump a bit and the chair would move suddenly I started laughing and giggling and could not stop, the look on his face was priceless. I am giggling right now thinking about it [:D]

Hard limits do not have to be lifestyle in nature. Life is too short to not laugh. A sense of humor is a hard limit for me. Honesty is another. How can someone not see the humor in some of the things we get ourselves into? Master's dorei

Agreed. Without humor, we'd all be in early graves. Anyone that tells you different, isn't going to live long enough to enjoy the lifestyle, let alone even the simplest forms of humor that they could grasp. Life, Love, and Laughter... and Leather. ~winks~ Cheers.

Laughter, humor, and just smiling and having fun are soo special in life! If we all had hard faces and no evil smiles on our faces could we say we were having any fun. I love to laugh and joke and say things some of my friends would never think I would say. It keeps them wondering what I am thinking and doing. After a very stressful week my Master sent me a card with these words STRESSED spelled backwards is DESSERTS, so lets all forget stress and get our desserts any way we can[:)]

I completely agree. Laughter is absolutely great and I doubt I could have a sub who did not have a great sense of humor. For me at least there is nothing more amusing than bieng in the middle of a scene and having some faux paux turn into a laughing fit.. Just a couple days ago I was playing with one of my grrls and she asked if I had ever had a Frosty Blowjob... I'm the same but also use humor when I'm out of my comfort zone talking and when really nervous.Just my 2 cents

Tigress~FL i agree with this. some of us tend to be stuck in one mode most of the time (tho not all of the time...i've yet to meet someone who completely lacked a sense of humor or a serious side). i'm one of those who is serious most of the time, and for this reason i don't get along well with those who are silly/light-hearted most of the time. but i do have a sense of humor, and enjoy laughing and joking around, but that's just not where my head is most of the time.
