Im not sure if anyone else has seen this, but the Chinese may be opening the first BDSM town without knowing it, I wonder if people around the world will be moving there soon to live their kink unmolested :-p

Whatever their reasoning is, it's the reasoning and understanding that might develope around the town that's going to be neat to see.

The bit that interests me, is that in rural China there are so few available women that many men are having to marry close within their bloodlines. Many areas now accept the marrying of first cousins.
This article sort of gives the impression that there are oodles of available women, so much so that they get their own town.
I must say, that Beijing is one of my favorite cities to visit and when I return I plan on visiting the new femdomme town!

Acutally I think the articles I've read have suggested that there aren't enough women.  So basically the ladies are sick of being pestered constantly about hooking up [:D]

To those outside of a bdsm lifestyle or orientation, this may sound cool, but if you have some experience in it, this town sounds really, really tame in comparison to some of the other places that do actually exist. I get the impression that some civic leader realized there were a lot of fetish-thinking individuals in the world and then may have observed something like OWK and then thought this would be a great idea. But without the extremism that exists within the real world places of female domination, it's probably not going to attract those who would seek this out and also turn off those who wouldn't dream of participating in something they'd consider extreme (even if we realize it's not all that extreme; vanillas tend to be really negative thinkers to all things like this).

I'm thinking this has more of a relation to the bdsm restaurant Japan created (although I don't know if it survived to today) rather than to something that is as conceptually cool as OWK (although the reality may be somewhat give or take).
