My cat will run full speed into a wall if a laser pointer dot is there.  Why can't they figure out that it's not actually something they can catch....or maybe that's what makes the do it.  Also, the cats liter box is in the bathroom and she'll only go when I do....very strange.  And she chirps at the birds outside the window....ok, I'll stop or the list of her quirks will take up a whole page by itself.

Miroku is a masokitten, loves being thwacked about. He purrs like an outboard motor when you get to thwackin' on his butt. Sano goes all googly-eyed and sort of sways like a snake being charmed when he's catnippy... and Naoko has six toes on all his feet. Mole has thumbs. Sashiko is our cabbit... she has a little bitty dock tail, and she has huge ears and hops when she runs. Oh, and she's lesbian, and not for cats. She's in love with my roommate, Dana.

I am owned by three of the adorable little buggers.  The oldest, Kittybrat, named so for the obvious reason, is a real pain in the ass!  I swear he can tell time, and regardless of when i set my alarm for, he always manages to wake me up at least 30 minutes prior to it going off!  When he wants attention, he will get up on the table, or counter, and push stuff off it......I can look RIGHT at him, tell him not to do it, and he'll just reach out and THUNK!  off it goes.  If he gets lonesome at night, he'll just come on in and wake me up, either by headbutting me, or sticking a paw in my ear, or walking on my hair close to the scalp so it pulls.  He gets a wild hair every so often, and just charges around the place jumping in and out of the window, or up on the fridge to the cabinets, or anywhere else he can barrel thru.  My other two are younger, they are brothers, but as different as night and day.  Smooch is the lover of the bunch, all you have to do is talk to him, and he's purring away like a little buzzsaw.  Boo is my little independent kitty.....he comes to me for love when he wants it, usually when i'm in the bathroom getting ready for work.  He won't drink out of the kitty fountain i have, it HAS to be the toilet, and he's going to get the fish in the tank if it's the last thing he does in his little life.  Doesn't quite understand the concept of that whole glass box thing.  But their entertainment value far outweighs the cost of cat food...well, almost!  I have one of htose laser pointers, and OMG!!!!! they are hysterical!  Boo has figured out that he will never catch the stupid little dot, so he just sits there and watches the other two run around chasing it....usually with a little superior look on his face!  Boo has recognized what the bag of shrimp looks like, when i pull it out of the freezer, he sits on the counter waiting for it to cook...he's hooked qite a few right out of the bowl.

Some days, it's like living with a bunch of two year olds, but i wouldn't give them up for anything!  They are my family.....

my cat Rusty is so insecure- if you are on the telephone he will actually get in between you and the phone and cry...he sits on my keyboard when he wants attention so i can't chat...he likes to be handfed...what a brat.

At one time I had 4 of the little heathens lol.  Now I have Lou a giant of an orange tabby who is diabetic.  He is the best thing about taking his shots.  Just sidles his butt over and lets me pop him.  And he is a voyeur.  I learned the hard way to close the door when scening with a sub. Otherwise I would reach over for a flogger or go to reposition my boy and there would be Lou sitting on his haunches with the most serious expression on his face.  He would watch intently whatever I was doing and creep closer and closer until he was right next to the sub.  Freaked the daylights out of one guy when I removed the blindfold and the fur throw was Lou lol.

Dustin is my other furbaby.  He is also a bonafide freaky deaky kinky kitty.  He grabbed a rubber flogger one day when I had stuff laid out for rearranging the toy cabinet.  I foolishy decided to see if he wanted to play with the falls.  As I was whipping the flogger about for him to chase he got a pretty good whack across his belly.  I am all heartbroken thinking I had injured my sweetie when he let out this deep growly sound and looked blissed out.  Yep, he loves to be flogged.  On the crotch no less.  Dustin also is madly in love with me.  This is the first cat I have ever had who actually kisses.  He will place himself beside my face on the pillow, throw a front leg around my neck and put his mouth square onto my lips....and try to slip me the tongue!  He will also "pet" me.  He will lie beside me and stroke my cheek or my hair with his front paw for 10-15 minutes.  Fortunately for me my husband is a cat person so he knew from the beginning he was joining a poly family since Dustin considers himself my mate.  However, being a true metrosexual Dustin is also very physically affectionate with my hubby.......but his kisses and pets are strictly for his woman.

In the past I had a Siamese who would answer the phone by knocking it off the hook and talking into it.  He was also leash trained, loved to ride in the car and guarded my dryer at the laundromat while I transported my wet clothes over.  This same cat woke me up when I had a burgler in the house and then promptly went after the burgler startling him so that he ran out the door.  Brett slept with his head next to mine on the pillow and the remainder of his body either draped against my chest or against my back.  There was no cabinet or door he couldn't open and I watched him open a thumb latched deadbolt by climbing onto the entry way table and leaning over to use his teeth until the lock clicked,  he then batted at the safety chain until he loosened it and jumped down and went out!  Little bugger didn't close the door behind himself though lol.  I had to replace all the exterior door locks with keyed deadbolts.  Brett was the smartest animal I have ever shared my life with to date.  Unfortunately he died at 3.5 of acute renal failure.

My ShadowMan is like a lot of cats - sure the universe revolves around him! LOL  He too sees spirits, and for whatever reason, one of them lives on the ceiling in the den, because the S-man has a morbid fascination with it; he does the running through the house like his tail is on fire and stalking the unseen only to take off like he has been electrified.  Though younger, he definitely Doms his sister Mouse (12yr old cocker spaniel), to the point that if he is sitting in front of her food bowl, she will sit just a wee bit back and to the side of him and wait for him to move.  He is verra picky when it comes to food tho' - dry only, and treats, the harder/crunchier the better.  In fact, if you put anything resembling wet food in his bowl, or water anywhere in the room with his food bowl, he will over turn it and spend 15mins trying to burying it under the mat; and then come out and give you a "who puked in my bowl" look. lol  Oddly enough, he introduced himself to Mouse by touching his nose to hers (we were out for her last walk of the evening) and then walking with us. When I first got ShadowMan (the people who had him before I adopted him moved and just abandoned him) I really thought he was going to be a sort of "you will pet me when I want kitty", but after about 2wks he decided that he was safe and became verra demanding for attention. ShadowMan quickly made it clear that he was the "Sir" and she and I just sort of fell into place. LOL

Junior, my younger tuxedo cat, attacks door frames.  For no reason, he'll race down the stairs and fly about five feet straight up the first door frame he comes to, with his paws wrapped around it.

Shadow, my older tuxedo cat, is too dignified to lower himself to such behavior.  He just headbutts everyone who sits on the couch.  Whether he knows them or not, he'll walk along the back of the couch and ram his head into the back of the head of every person there.

Buddy, my orange tabby, is a masochist.  He likes to be flogged.  He also thinks if he can't see you, he's invisible, so when someone comes in the house, he hides under the covers on my bed.  And he bites my 80-lb rottweiler.

I have had quite the menagerie over the years.  My oldest kitty was the Queen Bitch of them all and would hang out on a stool in the kitchen, swatting and hissing at anyone who got too close.  I had a pair of kittens, brothers from the same litter, who would unwind all of the toilet paper and stream it all over the hallway.  We had to leave the toilet paper on the counter to keep them out of it.  They also stole small items like caps off of water bottles and batted them all over the wooden floors.  One time, I brought a cat home to catsit for a co-worker who was in the middle of moving.  I worked the late shift and my roommate worked an early one.  He got up at 5 am to pee and started yelling at me when the new cat rushed into the bathroom and attacked his legs when he was pissing!

Well my current kitties are boring compared to everyone elses kitties. But I used to have a sweet little calico named Susie (or Susanna Alexandra.) she was extremely skitterish, when she wanted out of my room, I would have to get out of bed, open the door, climb  back into bed, wait for her to leave, then close the door. I would toss a rolled up piece of paper or fast food wrapper for her to play with, and she would jump like 2 feet in the air, backwards.  We had 2 cats when I was growing up, Humphrey and Harvey. ( My dad had a thing for H names, go figure.) Humphrey was a former stray that my family took in just before I was born, black tiger striped gray cat, He would sit on ledge of the stairs waiting for my mom to walk by and swat her on the butt, one day she responded by whacking him on the head with a book.  I used to be alittle scared of him when I was little because he played kinda rough, but interestingly enough he let me put my dolls dresses on him, and would sit calmly in the baby carriage. Harvey was a huge black and white tuxedo cat, later years we called him Bubba.  When my parents seperated then later divorced he would comfort my dad, let him cry on his fur, and would pet him.  Just after the divorce was final, we had to put him to sleep because his kidney was failing. My dad still tears up alittle bit when he remembers Bubba doing that for him. (so do I.*watery smile*) My current kitties are Anya (Smudge) and Padreic (Buzz) like most male cats, he Doms Smudge, exept when it comes to my dad's attention. she gets really jealous when Buzz gets attention from my dad. she would sit there and glare til he moves, sometimes she would kick his ass.  (figures, I wanted the cats, my dad didn't, so of course who do they bond with?) ok long enough typing there.

OMG!!!  i forgot aabout the toilet paper!  Do you know that a 4 pack of scottissue can cover a 9x6 bathroom about 8 inches in "snow"?  Add two rolls of bounty paper towels, and it's a regular blizzard!!!!  That was Smooch's doing.....and there's nothing like trying to figure out what the wierd noise is that woke you at 3 am......you stumble outta bed, follow the sound, and find Boo batting a pistachio nut around inside the tub.....he plays with them, i think he likes the "tink" sound they make on the floor.....anyway, the acoustics in the bathtub must really appeal to him, cuz he plays in there with his nuts alot!

I can't leave cash loose in the house either....something about the taste and smell of it attracts Smooch....caught him making off once with about $500 in $100 bills.....now THAT'S a lot of catnip!!!!!

And thanks to KB, i can't even use drawers to hide things...he taught the younger ones all about goodies in cabinets and drawers.....i give up!  At least there is still the fridge....i can't even leave the door unlocked when i go outside, the little bugger can open that too!  Who needs opposable thumbs?????

Okay, I have now decided to dress up as a "cat" burglar, and hit your house. *L*

Shadow hates the vet.  Now, this is a cat who is up on everyone's lap, thinks everybody comes to our house for the sole purpose of petting him, rubs on everybody, headbutts anyone who sits on the couch, etc, etc, etc.  But let him see the veterinarian and he's a cat possessed.  He goes from everyone's pal to a hissing, growling, spitting, yowling, smacking, biting blur of fur the moment this woman steps into the room!  And then, the moment we set foot outside the vet's office, he's back to being the sweetheart he usually is.  It's downright bizarre.

I have three of the furry monsters currently, and love them all madly - they're very much my kids.  The oldest, Loki (named for a reason!), is seriously polydactyl - two thumbs on each front foot, and he uses them accordingly.  He loves to jump on top of doors and then balance there while it swings wildly under him.  Given the chance, he'll escape to the great outdoors, but runs slowly and yells constantly to make sure that I don't actually lose him, so I can chase him down and bring him back inside.  His sense of timing rules the household - if my alarm doesn't go off, he'll wake me up, he doesn't tolerate use of the snooze button, and he'll let us know if we're up past bedtime.  He has no hesitation about mounting other cats - more often males than females, the fuzzy pervert.    To get away from the others, he goes in his kitty carrier and pulls the door closed behind him.

Of the younger two, who are both rescued strays... my fluffy orange girl Angel is pretty normal, for a cat (whatever that means) but the black and white boy Trick-or-Treat (hey, he showed up the day before Hallowe'en) is the only cat I've ever met even more crazy than Loki. He joins us in the shower on occasion, climbs on my stomach when I'm taking a bath so he can drink the water, chases his own tail with absolutely wild abandon like he's convinced it's an alien creature, brings us his favorite toy balls or strings when he wants to play, and twists around in utter fascination to watch while we trim his claws.  You can do anything to him, and as long as you're paying attention to him, he purrs like crazy and loves every minute.

They certainly make life interesting, and they are certainly nuts.

Well, you'll have to get past KB, and then chase Smooch down for the money....he doesn't like to share!  He just figures that's what i owe him for being allowed to "keep" him!

Thanks for the welcome, Vendaval.  Can't think of a subject more likely to lure me into posting than how crazy my cats are.  LOL  Anyplace where there are a lot of people who are more amused than horrified by feline insanity has to be a good place to hang out!

One of my herd of kitties is named "Dances with Ghosts" if that gives you any idea.
I've also discovered that at least three of my cats love to be spanked.
