I never thought I would say it, but I enjoy classical thought. Lately I went through the Enchiridion by Epictetus and slightly more modern- eh if the Renaissance is modern- a microhistory story called Giovanni and Lusanna by Gene Brucker. Now that was fascinating - a Renaissance woman sued her noble lover, claiming that they had been secretly married for 12 years.

While I did enjoy Obsidian Butterfly a great deal, at one point I threw the book on the bed and asked my ex, "What does -everyone- want to sleep with Anita?" Little did I know..... I liked Richard more before she divorced her husband, upon whom he was based. Now he's passive-aggressive and wangsty. Not as wangsty as Micah, however.

I miss him.

Edward seemed to ground Anita, one of the few men in her life she isn't going to have sex with....Olaf was scary, in that psychopathic I-want-to-wear-your-head-as-a-hat way. Which is good,When she gets into the characters they really come alive, but after a point the sex really gets a bit cheesy. After reading Narcissist in Chains I just wanted to find an S/m club like that s minus the wing-nuts of course. I agree about poor Richard, he really started to come into his own then seemed to have a break down of sorts. Have you ever read her blog? Intresting but wow, she has a thing for guns, maybe that is just my 'Canadianess' showing thru g Lynn Viehl writes her fantasy series under the name S.L. Viehl. Have you ever read any of Sherrilyn Kenyon's work? It is pretty fantastic as well. denika

Yeah he really did seem to ground her and I loved their interaction. She needs more of him back in the series. Olaf...grin....yep, totally agree with you there. The SM club in NIC I definitely would love to find. I kinda drifted off a little bit into imagining myself in such a place. Richard definitely needs some work...he's very messed up and needs to start straightening out and getting grounded....he's flaking out. I do read her blog every so often, but not as often as I'd like to. I have a friend who lives in Ohio who has met her twice now at signings and talked with her and taken pics with her. She's an aspiring writer and can't say enough good about LKH as both a writer and a person. I absolutely LOVE Sherrilyn Kenyon's work! I first discovered her with a book she did called Born of the Night years ago. I found a brand new copy for $1 at the dollar store and literally read it to pieces. It's out of print and I haven't been able to replace it. It was a sci fi type thing and a totally fantastic story. A few years later I ran across Fantasy Lover and am now on my second copy of it lol. I have all the Dark Hunter stories to date and love them and her Brotherhood of the Sword and her Lords of Avalon series', all of which are great. I have as much of her books written as Kinley MacGregor as I have been able to find and get also. An announcement was made in her groups that her publisher is going to begin reissuing her out of print stuff too which will totally rock. Have you read any of Maggie Shayne's witch series or Wings in the Night series? I love those and I love Christine Feehan's various series she has going and JR Ward's vampire series rocks. I could go on and on...I love paranormals and fantasy and all kinds of stuff like that.

Marting series (for folks around Indiana, he's going to appear at InConjunction in Indy July 6-8).... The scene in (Evanovich's) Hot 6, where the (about to barf large dog) is tossed in a taxi with the 2 bad guys made me laugh until I cried. Always check that the dog's not eaten the prunes and a box of cornflakes BEFORE stealing him! It's been great seeing the variety of tastes here on CM! thornhappy

angeldevil, i also enjoy King's books and have bought the Cell just haven't read it yet. Secret Submission by Diana Hunter, the Odd series by Koontz and am now reading Wicked by Gregory Maguire.
