It would seem to make sense that keeping them on for a long period of time once in awhile would be ok until the skin turned color or the clamps started breaking the skin. I would avoid doing such since prolonged use could cause nerve damage and loss of sensation.

Twenty minutes is a good rule of thumb as to how long a clamp or clothespin can be left on before skin cells start to die off. Of course, we kill off skin cells in play all the time. Cuts and welts kill off skin cells as well. So be aware of what is happening and what risks you are willing to take. All microbondage compression toys (clamps, clothespins, clips, forceps, hemostats) basically work the same way. When a clothespin is applied we first feel the pinch when the nerves start sending signals. After a short time the nerve has been deprived of blood and stops sending the signal cause it is out of energy. The victim/ bottom doesn’t just get used to the pain. In actuality the pain signals stop getting through because the circuit is broken. What sensation is left being felt is because the surrounding nerves that still work send some signals, just not nearly at the level that were being sent before bondage. Remember that compression toys are always a two-part scene. All parties need to be aware of this from the start. Compression toys have to come off after they have been applied and even a safeword can’t change that. When the compression is relieved blood and thus oxygen rush back in, the nerve wakes up, and the signals start again. These signals are usually more intense than when the clothespins or clamps were applied. BTW...having a clamp break skin is not necessarily a bad thing. Master Archer often plays to blood on me with microbondage.

it depends on the sub...but you need to watch for discoloration and being cold to the touch. What happens is you cut off the blood flow...just like when your foot falls asleep when you sit on it....and the pain is worsened when you remove the clamps as the blood flow returns. Eventually damage can be done so it's always wise to remove before too long.... a gray discoloring or cold to the touch is your cue to remove.... D~

It depends on how tight the clamps are as to how much of the circulation is cut off. Consider colour change, temperature change and loss of sensation as key indicators. As a general rule of thumb for something like nipple clamps, I would be wary of any more than 10 minutes. Loose clothes pegs on other areas of skin could be there for up to 20 minutes maybe ... but really it is up to the Dominant to monitor the sub's skin very carefully and err on the side of caution! How long for me is about a tenth of a second. If they're tight enough to stay on, they hurt. Not an erotic pain, or an interesting pain, just straight, unpleasant pain. Then, I have an odd sensitivity to pressure. I've never been able to be massaged for that reason, and having my blood pressure taken is very painful.

I have worn some clamps for more than a hour, while other clamps will have to come off in under 20 min. It depends on all of the variables mentioned above and then some more like physical condition at the time and even room temperature plus more.

well..hmm...all the same things I was thinking. i had tweezy type clamps on lower lips (think about it) and the screw type clamps on nipples BUT not tightened fully...enough to feel pain but not full strength ...at full strength I would never of been able to do wat I had to. I was instructed by my Master to run my errands that day with those clamps on...(grocery shopping, post office, drive a friend to work) It was a very interesting few hours..trying not to walk funny in the store...or let my friend know I was in some pain. It was not tight t othe extent of discoloration...but trust me.........it hurt. I had them on for a number of hours for my Master and although I did not mistrust his judgement on this, I was curious to see what others would say in regards to how long? Of course this is why he did not tighten them all the way...but when they were taken off....OMG lol. I dont think I need to explain that one

Hahaha. Wait until he decides to tie a set of clover clamps to the "tweezy types" underneath and makes you hold a backbend while he smokes a cigarette. Anyway. Unless your nipples are tied off tightly and you have large binder clips on your labia, you can go for longer than you think. What I have found with both the clamps you have mentioned is that the black plastic tends to stick to skin upon removal. TOUGH SHIT :/

After 30 minutes the circulation has been cut off and nasty things can happen. 20- 30 minutes depending on the individual and the clamps.

It depends on what type of clamps you are using and on the sub. Usually when you see some discoloration and like others said, cold to the touch, that would be long enough......for the subs i spoke to, most of them it was about 15 mins or so.

A lot depends on the sub and also the mood she is in. I have seen subs take more or some days than they can on others days. Also sexual stimulation can make it so the sub can stand more and sometimes with some subs can even make the orgasm more intense than without the clamps. Everyone is different and some people can go a lot further than they think but like otehr things care should be taken Dave

Well I had them on for quite some time, but I always checked to see if their was discoloration. (hurt like a bitch to check though lol)
