My cat as well.  He is my baby and I can't imagine not having him curled up next to me, purring every night.

And a silk scarf my Gramma recently made.  She has been ill for a long time and yet through all her suffering, managed to create something beautiful to give me for my birthday, that she fears she will not be around to see.

i dont know that after the last 2yrs there isnt a thing i have that i couldnt live without. It seems kinda sad really. the people in my life are very important to me......i know i am attached to them but i think that it was meant as material possessions and there isnt one thing that i have that i couldnt live without......

My babies - a 12yr old cocker spaniel and an 11yr old tuxedo cat. If I had to choose between them and a Man, well, it would be no contest. Besides, my cat believes he is the ruler of the universe and prefers to be called "Sir", so it wouldn't be a total loss! LOL **grin**

As for material possessions, oddly enough, it would probably be my Mother's bible. I am not a believer, but she was, and it has lots of notes, thoughts, personal musings and underlinings of passages and such from when she was a child, and on into adulthood. When I miss her, I like to read her remarks and thoughts.

As for any other possessions, I don't know that there is really any one thing that I could not leave behind. I think that stems from being a "civilian military brat" - you had to know how to pack light and be ready to move (so no pack rat leanings).

I'm attached to my kitty, Sanosuke. Right up there with SoulToShare, lack of cat is a deal breaker. I'd be pretty lost without my books, too, and my computer, which contains my music and to the seat of which I am permanently glued, haha. Other than those, I'm not a material person. Stuff comes and goes. It's the people that matter.

GeekyGirl -> RE: what are you attached to? (5/11/2007 6:04:58 PM)

I'm very attached to my animals, my home, and my career.

My animals include my 8 dogs, 3 inside cats, and 5 horses. They are my babies and I simply wouldn't live without them. "not giving up my animals" also sort of covers my barrel racing hobby....showing barrel racing horses is a HUGE part of my life and there's not a man alive worth giving it up.

My home is my horse facility and so it all goes along together....unless he owns a nice ranch, I'm not leaving my home! He can come live here, or he can maintain his own home where I visit him, but I will not move away from my property.

My career is important not only because it finances my horse hobby because because retirement is very important to me, and regardless of what happens in my love life, I want to know I will be provided for in my old age.

I have an autographed copy of a book - no details - that my mother gave me. She actually wrote the author, sent him the book, and he autographed it using my name and wrote a short note with it. Such things are more valuable when they are flat-signed but it means a lot to me. And I adore my apple-head, no-claw, dietarily picky, ancient persian cat we rescued from the pound a few months ago. She's such a queenie. She's got the dogs terrified of her bad self.

i used to be most attached to my toon art but have been disappointed in the artists themselves as people.
