Why the hell cant a Mod shut this thread off from being posted on anymore??

Obviously if it's still going, people still care. Unless there's flaming going on, there's nothing necessarily wrong with it. You can directly report it to the mods rather than starting a new thread about it (which will attract new readers and new relevant responses)
