Agent says militia targeted Hispanics Posted by Birmingham News staff May 02, 2007 4:15 AM The heavily armed Alabama Free Militia planned to attack a group of Hispanics in Blount County and had orders to open fire immediately if they saw the feds coming, an ATF agent said Tuesday. Adam Nesmith of the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives testified during a federal court hearing that the men had a plan to attack a group of Mexicans in the Remlap area with machine guns. The KKK was committing acts of terrorism long before Al-Qaeda was ... I don't think any reasonable person has any reservations about such a statement. Anyone is capable of terrorism, and I hope that if they are found guilty that they're punished to the maximum extent that the law allows. -Sicarius

I just wish the Feds would do their job and enforce our immigration laws like they're supposed to be doing so we wouldn't be having things like this happening! Where can I get a good paying job where I don't have to do my job? The Feds should be Embarrassed as hell that groups like The Minutemen even have to exist.

For the record, I also agree completely with that point. I don't understand why we treat European immigrants like trash, making them obey all the rules and wait for years to get into this country, yet we basically give everyone who hops the fence a free pass. Prosecutor Michael Whisonant had asked that the men be detained, saying they were flight risks and a danger to society. whos society? not ours. 2500 rounds of ammo is a joke, they make it sound like that is a lot. 250,000 is a lot LOL

I think it does highlight that heavy handed gun control can't stop this kind of stuff. Not when any idiot with a truck, some fuel oil, and some fertilizer can kill thousands.

Well, there are only three "races", Mongoloid, Caucasoid, Negroid. "Hispanic" is not a "race" it is an ethnic group just like Celtic (Irish) Berber, or Saxon. Anyone or group who is trying to cull some type of "advantage" by trying to play a "race card" is pissing into the wind. It has nothing to do about "race" and everything to do about Legal Status. It's really none of their business how we do things in OUR country! As much as they may wish so, the U.S. is NOT their country! And being of Irish descent and also having dual American/Irish Citizenship I would arrest and deport the illegal Irish FIRST, just to set the example! It makes absolutely no difference where someone is from, if they're in MY country illegally they need to G.T.F.O.! I could never understand why anyone would want to be somewhere where they are obviously not welcome. Realone, yes, I probably have 6-7,000 rounds here. But, I have 8 different calibers of weapons. That's really not "a lot" of ammo-2,500 rounds. If I see a good deal on ammo I might buy 500 or 1,000 rounds at a time. It saves a lot of money buying in bulk like that! If I can get 10 boxes of ammo for $13 per box as opposed to $17 for one box that's $40 I save!

Fanatics come in all shapes, sizes, creeds, religions, and colors. It doesnt matter what their doctrine is or whose side their on, a fanatic is a dangerous breed of beast that needs to handled promptly when discovered. The really sad thing about that group in AL is that for the most part they'll be found guilty of misdemeanor offenses, slapped on the wrist, and released back into society to become matyrs for other fanatics of the same doctrine to follow. I can't find any referance to them having been immigrants though, looks like this is part of a good old home cooked american apple pie.

Pulp, true. What we're witnessing I think is a breakdown in our govt. They're tied down with red tape, rules, regulations that won't allow them to do their jobs. Big business has basically bought our government and uses it for their own interests. Everything that Bush does benefits big business!
