Unfortunately, sexual and obscenity laws can vary from township to city to state, and all will have nuances that may or may not apply to the business a professional Dominant conducts. For example, one area may deem causing an erection with any part of the body for financial compensation an act of prostitution, while another may deem any type of sadomasochistic interaction (whether paid or free) illegal. As John said, take legal advice and even the old "You can't do that, it's illegal!" mantra with a grain of salt. There are so many laws dictating the behavior of individuals that you are often in violation of a couple at all times. But, as one of my attorneys has a fondness for saying, "Sure.. it's against the law, but the real question is, can you get a conviction on it?" (laughs) And to answer kisshou's second question-- not all individuals come to a ProDom with a desire for a long-term relationship (although many do), so the unfulfilled-ness you're asking about may or may not occur. Now, I offer long-term training programs, which differ from hourly sessions, which helps bridge the gap between professional and lifestyle, of which I am both. It can be a truly difficult thing for a single, unowned submissive looking for the right Dominant. As far as the picking scenes, I won't abide by that. I take into account particular interests, fetishes, and dislikes... but ultimately it's about what pleases me. I'm not about to let the power exchange slide over to the submissive just because he's paying for it. This isn't a "service" rendered. It's an opportunity to serve an ideal.
