LOL. I ranted about this I think about a week ago. Alot of them are HNG who just don't want be bothered with something as "trivial" as reading a profile. Heavens forbid!

Some people can only "read" pictures. Some people play a numbers game and message every single woman they can find. Some people are simply too busy playing with their bits to notice ANY salient profile details and just email regardless...

I've got a doozy for you. The first paragraph in my profile states I'm happy with Master. Some local goober actually had the audacity to send me his phone number? For crying out loud, not only is that a blatant lack of effort, it's downright stupid to expect me to contact some stranger under any circumstances. Or is it just me?

The real question here is why so many people expect their profiles to be read so diligently and rules adhered to so rigidly. Lighten up people. It's a social networking site. If someone writes you an email it is a compliment to you whether you asked for it or not. If you don't want to respond then don't. But sometimes I write to a person who is not seeking a male dom because something in their profile sparked my interest that I wanted to converse about. Then my message is deleted before it is read. Go figure.

And if you hadn't noticed many users of CM and other social networking sites can barely put two words together to form a cohesive sentence if their lives depended on it. So you ask why don't I read the profiles? I am getting a headache interpretting gibberish, that's why.

if you dont want men to contact you, then i suggest you change yr profile to 'lesbian' instead of bisexual, as you seem to not want anything to do with men. that way when members put a search criteria, you wont be in the 'bisexual' fields.

Not to be picky ... but...

You did read the profile... you said it. You saw something and wrote to someone based on an interest you had on their profile. Even if that was only the first paragraph you read, you still read at least part of it.

Some people do not do that. You get the generic email that a person sends out to everyone. Or the ones saying, please let me submit to you - even though you are a submissive yourself. Or a lesbian contacting you etc... the list goes on. I think (from what I gather) that is what people complain about.

But it is one of those old things that happen, and will always happen. Personally, I just will write something back politely or ignore. I do not expect people to read my profile and stick to it. But it doesn't mean I still cannot make my thoughts know on my profile.

there's nothing really 'wrong' with that, its just that it would probably reduce your mail by at least half, therefore, you wouldnt get so irritated at all that mail.. right?

Youth wasted on the young but I'll waste a moment to say if you are even a semi-attractive young woman and you put a half naked, sexy picture of yourself on your profile on a sexually themed (okay sorry D/s is more an emotional commitment philosophers) social network please do not be surprised to find that a lot of assholes will email you.

And yes I've read all of the poor abused submissives whose lists of wants goes unread and I appologize for all of the stress and effort too many emails seems to be causing you. It's a burden being popular I know.

Ahhh - but just think of how wonderful it is by comparison , when you finally do receive a thoughtful , insightful , interesting response , that actually says the kinds of things you'd like to hear !! Maybe they are illiterate and incapable of reading??? That must be it... what other reason could there be? It's right there in front of their faces. Or... maybe it's just plain old stupid... yeah I suspect that's the reason. We in the medical field are trying to find a cure for stupid... so far the only thing we can come up with is to give them their sign so the rest of us know before we try to engage them in any sort of way. Can't fix stupid... or rude... or inconsiderate or... and the list could go on and on!

I always read profiles, but I don't always read every journal entry.

If you don't want men contacting you (or some other criterion), put it in your profile, not a 2yo journal entry hidden pages down...

That's my rant of the day.
