But whatever else might be said about the Muslim attributes of the French rioters, the fact is that the pathologies of the banlieues are similar to those of inner cities everywhere. It is impossible to get verifiable information about how many muslims or how many christians or Jews for that matter are unemployed. There are no official statsistics stating whether someone is black, white, yellow or emerald green. To the French, a citizen is a citizen regardless of race or creed, unlike the British who do keep records of such information. So how someone came up with 55% of muslims being unemployed is beyond me. I do know that like many migrant groups, many north Africans are self employed are small traders which is quite common for first and second generation migrants. I would love to know how the original poster who mentioned 55% of muslims being unemployed got the information. I lived in France and I know the forms I had to fill in and it wasn't down on any official form what my religion or ethnicity was.

That's why I am getting a little riled up, meatcleaver. Most of the people on collarme.com have never travelled out of their state, let alone possess a passport, and they make blatantly offensive comments about situations they know nothing about. I was born in France, that's where I lived until I was 17, I have gone back there frequently, I know the place inside out and I can affirm strongly and loudly that Islam is not, NOT the cause of the country's problems. It is simply that over there, the political power finds it convenient to turn around and point the finger at the obvious scapegoat when things aren't going well. And the population docile as fuck, follows. Those of you on this thread who are blindingly following the propaganda have my sympathy. You're still imbeciles though :-p

To me, you should consider that if you spent the rest of your life walking around France, meeting people ... by the end of your life, your statistical base would still be anomalous. Meatcleaver (who is a very good poster in my view) claims to know the U.S. because he has been here, but further discovery shows that he has only been to California and New England. He might want to consider that about 80% of Americans don't even consider California to be part of the United States. [;)][;)] (I'm from California, so can make that joke). You might also consider that President Bush and most of our political leadership have travelled extensively, all over the world ... and for some reason, can't divine the will of other nations. So, you can make these statements all you want, and get out of them whatever you will. Myself, I choose to admit that I live in Katy, Texas, population roughly fourteen-thousand, and I wouldn't be so vain as to say that I know the place inside and out. Then again, your conduct here as of late, leads me to the conclusion that you will not be with us that much longer ... unless of course you change your ways. You're still imbeciles though :-p Kittin, while I would agree that those who are giving their views on France are well wide of the mark, I would caution that 99.9% of the people on collarme aren't commenting on France.
