WASHINGTON - Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton, whose vote to authorize the Iraq war is a sore point with anti-war Democrats, joined an effort Thursday to revoke the authorization.

Is this Senator Clinton's version of trying to duplicate Superman's accomplishment of going faster and faster,  counter the rotation of the globe, around the world until time is reversed and she gets to change history?

Does this accomplish anything? According the article the bill hasn't been written because its never been done. Regarding how this reflects on the Senator, shouldn't strength of leadership require standing by old decisions? Shouldn't a leader acting in the present? If, as in this case, she now believes those decisions were a mistake, or were based on wrong information; what more would this bill do that a clear statement to that effect would?

This should be a fun year and 1/2 until next November. Buy media stock - there's going to be a LOT of money spent.

Many Congresspersons now say "If I knew then what I know now- I wouldn't have voted for the war".

Is this really "flip-flopping" or coming to their senses?

I know this is meant as a joke, but that trick of Superman's, experimental data from Stanford's Gravity Probe B suggest that the Frame Dragging effect might be very real, and therefore at least theoretically possible.

What you refer to as "What they knew before" was an intentional effort to defraud Congress into authorizing Bush's actions, and deprive Congress of their oversight role.

Lotus,
Not only Congresspersons, but people; me among them. Fooled, just fools, or just wrong; we shouldn't be there now; regarless of how much as any of us felt so strongly back then. When faced with the present decisions made in the past often look bad and we wish we didn't make them. The most obvious example - Marriage/divorce.

If your marriage turns out to be a mistake admit and and get divorced. Sometime people try to ride the fence and pretend their decision never happened. They seek an annulment. The bottom line is the same. Trying to pretend you never made the decision and annulling your vote, trying to pretend it never happened, insults yourself and your partner.

No - I don't see it as a "flip-flop". I see it as an the Senator going for an annulment.
