I really enjoy some of the creative names people here come up with for themselves (and sometimes for their partners, apparently). My question-- do you, like me, simply use the name here for CM purposes, or is it more of a "scene name" that you use in all/ most/ many aspects of your D/s life?

Regards, ATP

My name isn't really a scene name (though's it kinda turned into one). It's a nickname I've had since somewhere in the late middle-early high school era. I was working tech crew at my summer camp (CTY - Go nerd camp!) and a group of us techie girls who were already good friends decided that we were the Goddesses. We assigned ourselves names and various powers. Mine was Aqua, the Goddess of All Liquidy Things. Interesting sidenote: Because it is liquidy and not liquid, we also decided that I have the power to control Jell-O, sperm and blood. My favorite threats were "I control your sperm!" and "I will reverse your bloodflow!"

I'm sure that provides some insight into my personality. [:D]

Kalbar -> RE: Names and more names (5/4/2007 10:53:31 PM)

I merely use the name I have chosen on here, because more often than not there would already be someone who has registered with the name 'Steven'.

phoenixinchains -> RE: Names and more names (5/4/2007 10:55:12 PM)

"Phoenix" is a stage name

SunNMoon -> RE: Names and more names (5/5/2007 5:18:52 AM)

I have used some form of sun and moon in most of my screen names. I also thought that it would be a good play with being a switch; my submissive and dominant sides are in balance with one another like night and day are. It sounds like I thought about it more then I really did. [:)]

marylynn -> RE: Names and more names (5/5/2007 5:20:51 AM)

I don't know how creative "marylynn" is -
it's my real name

MissOchistic -> RE: Names and more names (5/5/2007 6:22:01 AM)

Miss Ochistic is my sortof "stage name". Many people know of me that way, and I don't mind people linking this profile my others, so I use it here as well.

Plus, it fits :)

ScreamerGirl -> RE: Names and more names (5/5/2007 7:18:45 AM)

I've been Screamer for about 15 years now.  It started on AOL and I publish under it widely.  I don't really see any reason to use anything else on the 'net as far as BDSM sites/chats/lists are concerned.

Tannie -> RE: Names and more names (5/5/2007 7:31:07 AM)

Mine is a shortened version of a nickname my friend gave me a long time ago.  Everywhere else, no matter the setting, I go by "Lisa".

LaMspeach -> RE: Names and more names (5/5/2007 7:44:02 AM)

LaMs peach was given to me by Master to use as a screen name. I use my RL nickname, Katie, for scene related things and Master calls me what ever he feel like at that moment

KaramelGoddess -> RE: Names and more names (5/5/2007 9:01:10 AM)

This is an interesting post :)

The Karamel bit of My nick was given to Me by a friend.  She used to call Me Caramella due to My skin colour.  It has just stuck.

Some people may think calling yourself a Goddess is vain, but I never thought of it that way.  I use it because My boy calls Me that.  He is Wiccan and believes there is a touch of the Goddess in all of us.  He just happens to think I have more, LOL!!!  So I let him[sm=flying.gif]

gwendolyn -> RE: Names and more names (5/5/2007 9:18:40 AM)

My name actually came about because my legal name, Gods help me, is one I share with his ex wife. Uncomfortable much? -laughs- So we chose a more archaic form of what had already been given to me. Now, the only place I don't use the name Gwen is at work. Everyone else just knows me by this name.

Gwen

SirDominic -> RE: Names and more names (5/5/2007 9:47:51 AM)

Halley, while you are right that you cannot change your account name, you do have an option. Create a new account with a name you like. It's a bit of work, but worth it. I started on this site with a different name, too, which I decided I didn't like. I created my current profile, and stated on my old one to find me at the new one. After a few months I then deleted the old account.

Namaste, Sir Dominic

tulinwl -> RE: Names and more names (5/5/2007 10:28:56 AM)

tulinwl = The unexamined life is not worth living.

I use this because I am always mindful of its meaning.

(It is a quote from Socrates)

substance78 -> RE: Names and more names (5/7/2007 9:26:21 AM)

CM only.

In real life, I'm still quite a curious fellow.   The "Lord" was more to say "very Dominant male" than anything else.

Back in my youth, about fifteen individuals swore fealty to me- back when I was more than I am now.  I suppose part of me still remembers this with a longing fondness.

This name I use in many places.  And, unfortunately if it is derogatory for some, I started using it before having one's 'place' in one's name was passe.

Jeff

I have always read your name as "Mister Jax". But if you say it is derogatory to some....hmm! I can't figure out what it really is!

EDIT: Uhhh. **facepalm**

Duh on Miss O.

Wrong vowel.

Enyo -> RE: Names and more names (5/7/2007 12:27:38 PM)

Enyo is a derivative of the nick I use on other sites, email, work, etc.

I seem to pick up nicknames easily, depending on where I am and who I am with, I answer to a plethera of names and really, I find myself frequently making nicknames up for others.  I think names are a very weird thing, some people are very attached to their name and other people don't care what they are called.

WilliamWizer -> RE: Names and more names (5/7/2007 12:52:07 PM)

I have used William Wizer (or small variations of it) since I started my "online life" at internet. I always use the same.

TigressFL -> RE: Names and more names (5/7/2007 1:05:55 PM)

My public scene name and my online name are almost the same. Online I go by Tigress~FL and in the scene it is simply Tigress. I chose that name because I have loved big cats as long as I can remember. My house is decorated with Tigers in the main house area then in Dragons in my bedroom. Online I added the FL to signify that I live in Florida. When I fist chose the name it did not have any sentimental value, however, since I have used it now since 1997, I have no desire to change it any time soon. It would be hard for many people to call me anything else. In fact most of the people that know my real name still call me Tigress and that is just fine by me.

I make it a habit to call my scene friends by their scene name rather than their real name as I find it easier as then I never have to concern myself with outing someones real name because I rarely use it.

edited for terrible typing

MercTech -> RE: Names and more names (5/7/2007 2:06:18 PM)

When I started doing contract work this was my CB Handle.  It rather stuck through more than a silly name to use when traveling.

Stefan
