So Many Words

There are so many things
I must say to you.
So many feelings
I must share with you.
So many ways
I have to show you
the love and respect
I have for you.

There are so many toughts
in my head tonight.
How do I get them out
in their proper way?
There are so many words
I could use.
I love you,
I trust you,
I care for you,
but are they enough?

Fears and doubts
spring to mind.
Questions of our devotion
to each other.
Hearing others share
how much you care for me.
Telling others
How much I care for you.

These are the things
I long to hear
firsthand
from you.
Open your heart
and your thoughts
to me.
As Parter
As Lover
As Friend.

For you are
my best friend.
