Tal! (That's gorean for "Greetings", to those who may not know~G~)

I am a Gorean lifestyler. By that I mean that I apply the precept, tenets and philosophies of Gor to my real life. Not always an easy thing to do. Unlike so many who "claim" to be Gorean... I am not a BDSM guy. That doesn't mean I am above a little creative play with my girl but... simple fact is, true Gorean men are NOT sadists! Slaves should fear the whip, as it is a tool for punishment... and... while I'm not above spanking a girl' sweet little ass with my bare hand, hanging her from the seiling by her wrists and beating her bloody is not a source of gratification for me. Nor would it be for a true Gorean slavegirl.

Being of Norwegian anscestory, and a sailor... I lean toward the ways of Torvaldsland, and my girls are trained and serve as bonds... rather than as he pampered (relatively speaking) silkies of the southern cities~G~

I firmly believe that in the natural order of things... females are engineered to be submissive to men. That it is in our genetic code for females to submit, and for men to master them. It is only due to the overwhelming influence of a western culture intent on immasculating men, defeminizing females, and turning us into an androgenous society, that we have drifted away from that which nature intended for us.

Slavery is NOT a gift. It is not something I feel honoured about, when a girl begs my ko'lar. I view it simply as her acknowledging the fire burning in her belly... telling her she is to serve at the feet of, and be found pleasing by a man. No contracts. No "safe" words and, certainly no negotiations. There are no pedestals for some subbie princess to be placed on and worshipped from. Not in my world. While certain accomodations are sometimes required in the real world... in the privacy of the home, it is about "Living It"!!!

I'm single... 48... hold a bachelors' in cultural anthropology and a masters' in literature... am self-employed (General Contractor) and live aboard my sloop rigged sailboat, which I am planning to take off on, in the next year (2 at most), and spend several years sailing around and exploring this rock we live on.

I've lived and travelled all over the world. Have been everywhere but the electric chair, and seen everything but the wind. (Though there was a time, back in the 70's, when I may have seen the wind but, the acid haze I was in at the time precluded a confirmation~G~).

Some might call me jaded. Perhaps even a bit cynical. Sort of a been there, done that sort of guy. I've seen that... Now show me something new and refreshing... Know what I mean?

I currently have 5 VT slaves who, in varying degrees, I also have an RT relationship with. Neither live with me, though one only lives about an hour drive away... another 6 or so. (Aircraft make many things possible, as far as the others are concerned).

Anyway... there's a scratch at the surface of me. Careful about digging too much deeper... it can get pretty intense in there!~G~

Greetings. I am also new here, but thought I would pipe in. I must confess I have never understood the appeal of Gor. I read the first book and was unimpressed. Perhaps if I read further.

Since you are an experienced sailor, I would like to ask you a question. Do you know where I could find the deck plans for a 17th century sloop? I am planning on running a pirate campaign for a table top role playing game and would like to have a nice layout as a visual aid.

I have to admit, the books are poorly written. Rather... poorly edited, to be sure! OIne must look beyond that... and even look beyond the staories themselves, if they choose... and seek to glean from them the philosophy that can be derived them. Dr. Lange (aka John Norman) makes a case for the influence of modern culture, especially western culture, for the decay of the natural order, in terms of the roles men and women play in society.

Experience tells me that this, just as in the D/s and BDSM communities (Of which I have had exstensive experience) is a subject that cannot be covered in a few simple paragraphs. Nor is it one on which everyone will agree. That is, in part, what makes us all different~S~ I am simply me... and Gor fits my personality and beliefs.

Honour, for example, is a majour theme, in Gorean philosophy.  It is something that has always played a huge role in my life... and something I feel most people have forgotten the meaning of.

I could go on... But I don't want to get on a rant!~L~

As to the 17th century sloop... Let me see what I can find for you... though I suspect that more plans for cutter rigs will be available. Especially for what you have in mind. The ships of that era and size usually had two masts, rather than one. Even so, as you might imagine... I have a long list of links that I can comb for you.

Winds...

I thought cutters did not come around until later.  I suppose I could make do with a two master.  I am just looking for something small and uncomplicated that would make a good pirate ship.  The larger it is, the more crew which means more work for me.
