Greetings A/all,

So spring has sprung and with everything in bloom, seasonal allergies are upon us.

What are your allergies, seasonal or otherwise?

I am going to list 10, as much as the format permits.
Please add any others in your replies.

I had a cat scan once, and the dye they injected me with almost killed me.  All my medical charts now have "NO IODINE CONTRAST DYE" in big red letters on them.

I used to allergic to wasp stings, but I think I outgrew it.  I'm lucky in that I have no seasonal hay fever-type allergies.

Sometimes MSG gives me near-asthmatic reactions, as does cigarette smoke.  (please, no flames!    And no pun intended there, either! )

I am sensitive to many inhalants (such as the first six items on your list).  I don't know if I'm allergic in the medical sense, but all of those things trigger my asthma.  By far pollen and smoke (cigarette, cigar, burning leaves, flares, etc) are the worst culprits for me.

I'll get the odd pollen 'day' or so of sneezing.  Nothing major.

I'm officially allergic to penicillin, so please be careful which STD's you pass my way.  OK?

Jeff

Cigarette smoke, dust, dog fur, but I develop a tolerance for that, and it's pretty mild.  I'm also horribly allergic to mushrooms, and one antibiotic.

I have a feeling I'd be allergic to crab lice, but I'm not sure I'd really want to find out.

Lessee... Iodine in all its forms, mold spores, cat/dog/birds (only found out AFTER I had a cat and a bird as pets, at the same time), and flouroquinalone antibiotics.

Technically (by testing) I'm also allergic to eggs, wheat, whole fish, and peanuts but I still eat them.

sambamanslilgirl,

How do you cope with the cigarette smoke at clubs and concerts?
Does that effect your entertainment reporting?

Um...everything I think.  Tho my scariests reactions are to nutrasweet, aspirin, and MSG-type compounds.  Everything else just makes me feel kinda crappy or very congested/itchy.

I'm aware of an allergy to cigarette smoke. Watery eyes, respiratory problems, pounding headache... the whole nine yards. I avoid places where cigarettes are being smoked, even in open air.

I've also got other mild seasonal allergies. (haha, seasonal ~ California has one long summer season and a few weeks of rain where I am!) And I'm sure I've got others, but I've never had the scratch test done to determine what I may be allergic to beyond the usual suspects.
