Hi all y'all--

I'm a cross between "connector" and "lackluster veteran" for at home use, and add in the "productivity enhancer" at work.

I will not under any circumstance (including torture) eat liver, lima beans or hominy grits, black eyed peas and a few other things so in the strict sense of the word, I am not.

I like computers but I haven't had a cell phone in 7 years.
TOO DANGEROUS while driving and the buttons are too small to see. Plus I really don't need a calculator or to be able to play "games" with a telephone.
As for "blackberrys" and pdi's I have no idea what they are!

Cross between a connector and omnivore here.  More often than not i can live without a cell phone, computer is a different story though.  i like pages and keeping up with family and friends that don't live close.

I am somewhat of both an omnivore and a connector too.
The cell phone and personal computer are major communication
tools in my life, but I hope to not need a Blackberry anytime soon.
Carrrying around a cell + laptop + IPOD + assorted gadgetry just
seems so cumbersome and too much of a bother, IMNSHO.

My ex has a Crackberry...never have been able to figure out what she does with that thing that I can't with my laptop ('cept she gets it all "right fucking now"....which I could live without actually).

Another bit of gadgetry I could well do without, phone intercoms in the bathroom!
If there was ever a time and place to do your business in private or soak in a tub or zone out in the shower, its in there!

Im a connector... I see it as a tool for communication, although I use it for business and other professional research purposes.

I always find it amusing listening to somebody pinch a loaf in the bathroom on the docks, 4 people using the urinals, and they are chattering away on their cell phone.

Or else having half a conversation with themselves.

Just wrong.  I have a cell phone, but since I detest talking on it I dont get much mileage out of it.

Sinergy...I travel ( a LOT)...and every time I get on the shuttle bus to the airport, an airplane, or as often as not...in the que for groceries...there's always this person (which, in my calculations, is as easily a woman as a man) talking as loudly as they can, as if to say "Yep....I'm on a cell phone...hey, guess what?   Yes, right now of course...I'm on a cell phone...that's it...no wires...no, seriously...I could run my hand around the entire circumference of this thing and I wouldn't get tripped up at all!!!...I'm actually talking to you really loudly as I (sit in this carriage while I'm on my way to the airport....fumble with my luggage, holding everyone up in the aisle while I talk to you instead of getting directly in to my seat....wait....could you hold this for me please?  One second....I'll just grab my book....oh fuck, I read that book last flight....one second....")...yepper...the plane's about take off...hey....wanna change seats?  I like the window...louder?  Okay.....HOW's THIS?????"

I have yet to be in a situation however, such that I've become party to excrement....nevertheless, I'm confident it's forthcoming.

Well, I frequently make some enormous farting noise, or find the part of the urinal that makes a nice loud tinkling noise, so the person on the other end of the phone knows where the person talking to them is.

But when you're packing for a trip, the Crackberry is a hell of a lot less hassle than the laptop.  Don't have to take it out for separate Xray inspection, either.  However, I've heard that downloading mail really drops the battery life, so bringing the charger is a must.

Don't bathrooms usually have a toilet?  Where did the phone go?

I'm so confused!

Personal technology bores me rigid. I have a PC and internet connection because I need it for my work, the part of my work I really hate and am trying to shift the empahsis of my income onto the work I really like in my studio. I have a mobile phone but it makes me feel as if I'm electronically tagged and most of the time it is off and in my drawer. Other stuff just washes over me, I just see it all as a stealer of valuable time.

"Lackluster veteran" here (how flattering!). i hate phones, and have very little need for mobile anything other than an MP3 player.

Poorly written article... never mentions what assumptions were "shattered" by the study.
