Silly newbie I am to this site and many probably frequented terms in D/s In general.

So here's my question. Whats OP mean, and perhaps inlighten me and other's new to such terms to others you might want to bring up, local and rare terms both equaly intrested in!

Example:  D/s = Dominant and submissive
               Dom= Dominant
               Sub = submissive

OP denotes original post or original poster.

Cheers,

Sea

Kitte9 -> RE: OP? (5/7/2007 5:13:16 PM)

Took me a bit to figure that one out myself. As it turns out, I can still learn. Joy!!!

KaramelGoddess -> RE: OP? (5/7/2007 5:30:11 PM)

Ok here's one... I'm still trying to figure out what TOS is.  I know it has something to do with the rules on the forums...but sheesh I can't figure it out.

Thanks in advance,
~Kara

SweetDommes -> RE: OP? (5/7/2007 5:38:10 PM)

TOS = terms of service

KaramelGoddess -> RE: OP? (5/7/2007 5:40:44 PM)

Thank you!!!!

One one of the two boards I Mod for (nope, sorry, automotive in nature, not lifestyle-related) we have a sticky, up top, with a rather informative (albeit locked) post with justa bout all our casual terminologies and abbreviations (why is that such a loooooong word?), so newbs can familiarize themselves, if they're clever enough to look in the "new members, read THIS first" (neat label, huh?) section.

Maybe something like that could be done, here, too.  Just need eerybody to chip in with abbrev's and terms, so that a list is compiled...

canupleaseme -> RE: OP? (5/8/2007 2:17:10 AM)

lol well while we are on it what does TPE mean and sometimes i see something that starts WT then loads of letters behind it and i dont get that one either lol??

MaamJay -> RE: OP? (5/8/2007 2:19:32 AM)

TPE - Total Power Exchange.
I think the other thing you are referring to is WIITWD - What It Is That We Do (took me a while to figure that one out too LOL!)

Maam Jay

canupleaseme -> RE: OP? (5/8/2007 2:24:14 AM)

Lol thanks MaamJay [:D]

NightVIne -> RE: OP? (5/9/2007 7:47:59 AM)

TPE - Total Power Exchange.  I've heard of this, but is it always a 24/7 situation?  If not, what is it?

I see Domme, Domina and FemDom.  Are they equivalent or have shades of difference?

Thanks!  NightVine

NightVIne -> RE: OP? (5/9/2007 7:51:10 AM)

Oh, another thing, I have noticed caps for Dom(mes) and small letters for subs.  What's a swtich to do???  Does it depend on if s/he is referring to self in Dom(me) or sub context?

MsKatHouston -> RE: OP? (5/9/2007 7:56:50 AM)

I'm a fan of just using proper grammar and punctuation.  It's a personal preference really.  Some people do the Cap thing when talking about Dominants.  submissives are not capped.  A S/switch might be written like that and when talking to mixed company there are T/those who do the slashy thing when discussing P/people.  Personally that drives me batty.

The different names for a fem dom are also typically personal preference.  Some use Mistress, Domme, Domina, FemDom, Master, Goddess, etc.

astarri -> RE: OP? (5/9/2007 8:03:02 AM)

took me FOREVER to figure out what an UM is which i have worked out to be an unmentionable which, due to forum rules, is a person that can not be named which someone is usually in care of (sounds like Voldemort lol)

MsKatHouston -> RE: OP? (5/9/2007 8:14:54 AM)

LOL As I am reading Harry Potter with my own UM right now that struck me as particularly funny.

Master96 -> RE: OP? (5/9/2007 12:30:03 PM)

Man! it took me some time to figure out what lol refers to...

ok...... lol

Action -> RE: OP? (5/9/2007 2:23:53 PM)

I know what you mean. I always tell my boy not to abbreviate anything when chatting with me, its a pet peeve of mine. I might not be the best speller or even with grammer (knowing more then one language has been a slight barrier for me) so I always punish him when he slips up.

amaidiamond -> RE: OP? (5/9/2007 2:34:17 PM)

Not to start a rant but.....abbriviations I can deal with - the whole "txt speek" thing - arrgghhhhhhh!!
