It's bad, my asthma has been what I consider "bad" (inhaler-dependent) for two weeks.  And my sinuses are a mess.
But I hate it when my chest aches.  It's the one thing I will whine about, so don't get me started.
My doc told me that dry is bad because some pollen (ragweed) actually thrive in drought-like conditions.

Very bad here in wa.  I find the Kirkland brand (Costco) of allergy medication works very well for me, and it's cheap.

We have it quite bad in the UK (so I have been informed)  My children and their father suffer and are sneezing so much.  The air quality isn't very good and the cloud cover has been quite low.  Plus spring has been exceptionally fine.

Peace

No doubt the answer depends on where you live, your housing,
work and transportation methods, and your own immune system.

That said, this year is worse than usual for me.  We had heavy rains
for a few years and this year is drier.  I am thinking that the dust
plus the pollen is the problem on the coast here.

It kills me too..... but I just head over to the Doc's office and tell him to give me a shot of Kenalog. It works like magik.

I have never heard of Kenalog before.  How effective is it?
Is it an expensive treatment?

Two-fold, it works wonders. The cost of the shot for me is eighteen dollars, plus the added-on cost of an office visit - I pay cash because I have a large deductible.

For me it lasts the whole season. And the two-fold aspect revolves around arthroscopic surgery I had on my left knee back in 1981 because of high school football injury. Every once in a while in the mornings when it's cold, that knee is a bit tight, but when I get the shot, for three solid months it never tightens up. I would imagine that it would work in a similar fashion if a person had arthritis -- It might help them.

It does wonders with regard to any bronchial ''wheezing'' as far as cardio is concerned. And I know it's a steroid, but I've never noticed any bad side effects.

Just as a side note, I have spoken to a handleful of different MDs about the use of corticosteroids and althought they do recommend them for people who have intense pollen allergies that imprison people et al. - they certainly don't like to push them.  Most suggested that maybe for short periods ie. when taking exams or dealing with short period usage is ok, but not anything longterm.(I was asking about my son at the time).
Peace

im pretty tuned into rxs. i totally agree w this post on steroids. a few years back- a quack dr gave me too many injections. i developed "roid rage"- it got me in alot of hot water. the inections cost $994 each- i had between 33 and 41 of them - far beyond medically recognized use. i dont know how the dr stays in business....

im farily liberal in choice over ones body- but pertaining to steroids- the general public isnt fully aware of the bad effects.....

For people who are suffering with sinus problems, consider a neti pot (such as sinucleanse), it can help.  It's not the most attractive thing and you may not want an audience as you stick a pot up your nose, but really, it helps.
